Queen Amari said "You're right. If this new female Overlord is as powerful as her father, the kingdom is in great danger once again. Rose, did she say where she was headed?" Rose answered "I couldn't hear her properly, but she said something about looking for orcs." Amari then walked to a curtain and pulled it back. It revealed a map of the entire kingdom of Avalonia and Amari said "That could mean she is headed to either Corgram Prison, where we imprisioned most of the orcs loyal to the Overlord or Silcole Mine, where there are rumors of a orc group hiding within. And it's close to Widowmire" Amari said "General Khan, assemble your finest warriors. Find this new overlord and stop her by any means necessary."
-
"I think she'll be headed to Silcole Mine, my lady. I'll assemble a squadron to go and intervene," General Khan says as he salutes the queen and then hurries off to make preparations for the coming conflict. He takes Rose with him so they could discuss how many fairies should accompany him to rival the amount of goblins they have.
-
Amari watched them leave and said "Obray." A small fairy with a piece of paper and a quill came to her. She continued "Get this message to Elden, head of Corgram Prison. Just in case this Overlord is too strong for Khan, tell him to double.. no triple the guards, triple the weapons, triple everything. I don't want that Overlord causing a prison riot." Obray said "Yes, my queen." and he immediately left. Amari then walked out of the throne room to get to other matters.
(Now we switch back to Annabelle and Hunter.) -
(Okie doke, though I have no idea what they're actually doing so my post is probably gonna be vague and short)
Hunter walked silently alongside Annabelle on their way to the orcs. He liked talking with her, but he also loved quiet moments like this where talking wasn't necessary, and they could just enjoy each other's presence. The mood would've been perfect had they not been accompanied by a bunch of goblins. -
Annabelle walked with Hunter to Silcole Mine. Hopefully, the rumors about a group of orc taking shelter there were true and this wasn't a waste of time. She thought about those times with Hunter as they would find themselves here because they were talking. Soon they were halfway to the mine and she began to have the feeling they were being watched.
-
Hunter felt the strange sense of being watched as well, but he continued his steady pace so as not to alarm the watchers that he knew about their presence. "Anna, do you feel that?" Hunter asks in a whisper so low that it was barely audible.
-
Annabelle whispered "Yes." She then stopped and put out her trident to get the others to stop. She said "I think we're about to be ambushed. Everyone keep on your toes."
-
Hunter unsheathed his bow and readied an arrow. He instinctively stood protectively in front of Anna, but he took a step back when he realized that that wasn't necessary anymore and that she could protect herself just fine. Hunter gritted his teeth, looking pissed and wary as he surveyed their surroundings.
-
Just then an orc yelled and charged at Annabelle, who swiftly hit it with her trident and pinned it to the ground. Annabelle said "You have five minutes to explain your attack." The orc said "You won't get to the mines, elf. You won't catch us alive." He then looked at Hunter and the goblins and said "Wait, are you two, human?"
-
"Human as they come," Hunter replied, lowering his bow. "'Cept this one here. She's more of an overlord-type person. I wouldn't deny her of any information if I were you. You can lead us right to the other orcs," Hunter says.
-
The orc sighed and said "What a relief. I thought you were elves, coming to capture us again. I guess I should have noticed the goblins." Annabelle let the orc up and he said "My name is Akron and if you aren't spies for the elves, I'll take you to the others." Annabelle said "We don't associate with them." Akron then began to lead them to the mine.
-
Hunter followed, but he never completely sheathed his bow again, just in case they ran into any trouble. Plus he didn't exactly trust easily. Strangers made him unsettled. The goblins didn't count of course, since they were basically in servitude of Annabelle.
-
Akron took them to the entrance of the mine and began to try light a torch until Annabelle stopped him. She ordered a red goblin to the front to light the path. Akron smiled and continued to lead them through the mine.
-
Hunter wondered how many orcs would exactly be in this group. Not nearly enough to take on Amari, probably. But maybe enough to free more orcs from the Prison that Amari held them in. He was excited for the adventure that awaited him.
-
Akron lead them to a wall in the mine and said "Okay. The orcs here aren't that trusting. So I need only the leader to be next to me." Annabelle obliged but wondered what he was doing. Akron knocked a secrets knock of some type and the wall split and moved like a large door opening. An orc guard saw Akron and Annabelle and asked "Akron, who is this outsider?" "She wished for the assistance of all orcs. She needs to see Jason. I checked, she isn't an elf." The orc guard moved out of the way showing that they could all pass. Behind the wall was a large town like place with about 200 orcs walking around it.
