The goblins readied their own weapons and Annabelle said "You have no right to be giving me orders, and neither does Queen Amari. This land once belonged to my father and it shall be his again. Even if I have to go through every single fairy in the land until they're extinct. For now, you are not my equal."
-
"Of course I am not your equal, I am your superior! This heinous treachery against the name of Queen Amari shall not go unpunished. Fairies, attack!" General Khan commanded. The fairy warriors raised their various weapons and began to run towards Annabelle's group. Unseen fairies from the trees began to shoot arrows.
Hunter did the same. He saw that the fairies in the trees would be the most dangerous because they had the advantage of distance, so he payed close to attention to where the arrows came from and shot in those directions. -
Annabelle went straight for General Khan to take him down personally. The goblins retaliated against the fairies accordingly while the orcs that followed tried to help. Some of the green goblins attempted to climb the trees to get to the archer fairies, but to no avail.
-
Khan narrowly avoided Annabelle's attack. He was aware of the Overlord's powers and he assumed that this girl would have the same ones. He strategically avoided her as best as he could, and Khan fought any goblins or orcs near her so that the archer fairies would get clearer shots at her.
Hunter shot down a good amount of archer fairies. He estimated that there were about a dozen hiding somewhere in the trees and he took out about 3. It was hard having to look for them and also defend himself from the fairies on the ground. -
(Hey kat, would you please join my Apocalypse Sky roleplay, I need more people and for whatever reason, hardly anyone is joining)
Annabelle gave up on the chase as she needed to deal with the archers and other fairies. She used her electric powers to take down some of the archers but there was simply too many foot soldiers for her to focus. Just when it looked like her conquest was over before it began, out of the cave came a horde of orcs, all clad in armor and ready to fight. They rushed the fairies and began to turn the tide. -
(Okie doke :D)
The fairies, surprised at the horde of orcs, began losing the battle. More fairies fell and fell until Khan finally gave in and shouted "RETREAT!" All over the battlefield fairies began to disengage and run or fly away.
Even as the fairies turned their backs, Hunter shot down as many as he could. This is what they deserve. This was war. -
(Thanks)
Annabelle got off the ground and watched the fairies run. The orcs all cheered for their victory and returned to their cave except for the ones that were following Annabelle. She then said "Good job, everyone. Our first victory has come. Now we continue our conquest." And she marched them back to the ruined grounds of Widowmire to start construction on the castle. -
Hunter followed along, but not before collecting his arrows from the fallen bodies of fairies. Arrows didn't exactly come cheap, and his were made out of a sturdy material so that they wouldn't break when they hit a target. When they got to Widowmire he took this opportunity to clean them as well.
-
Annabelle drew up some plans for the castle and the goblins and orcs got to work on building it.
(Scene transition to Queen Amari's castle)
Amari was in a private room that used to be the Overlord's magic pool. She changed it to help revive injured fairies and also imprisoned him with his wife there. She looked at the crystal containing them both and to herself she said "You've had a kid this whole time, haven't you? And no one knew till now. Well, I hate to bear bad news but as we speak, my top general is capturing her before she can be a large threat. And when we get her, we'll execute her. You aren't getting out Overlord. Not till you're dead." She then left the room and sat down on her throne, waiting for General Khan. -
General Khan, fresh from the battle, entered the throne room for his scheduled meeting with the queen. His skin was taut and he was frowning. It didn't look like he had good news. Khan bowed. "My queen, the battle of Silcole Mine was a grave failure. We lost many soldiers, and the Overlord's spawn has escaped from our grasp. The orcs from the mine fought alongside her and the amount of orcs were far more than expected."
-
This news worried Amari. She didn't think the Overlord child was that strong already or that that many orcs were at the mine. Obviously, her soldiers didn't do as good of a sweep as instructed. She then told Khan "Okay. Deploy a spy to Widowmire to track this Overlord's next move. I'll see if I can't get word back from Corgram Prison about their security. At the same time, I order you and anyone else who survived this battle to go to the sick bay. I think you all deserve a rest to heal your wounds."
-
"Yes, my queen. I will keep you informed as we proceed with this issue," Khan says. He then bows once more before leaving the room to go and help his soldiers and to pick out someone as a spy. They couldn't keep losing like this. If too many soldiers were lost on missions trying to apprehend the Overlord's daughter, the fairyfolk would get worried about why their sisters and brothers were dying. They'd have to then get even more soldiers to replace the fallen ones. It would be apparent that this was war. Khan has to end this before it starts.
-
Amari could practically hear the Overlord laughing at her, especially after the speech he gave her. She stood up and looked out her window at her kingdom. She couldn't bear to see the place return to the dark place she remembered from her childhood and all the horrible things the Overlord did to make it that way. Amari had to stop this threat, someway, somehow.
(Time skipping to later that night and switching back to Annabelle)
Annabelle's castle was till under construction by the time night rolled around, but the more important rooms such as her throne and hers and Hunter's bedroom were complete. She looked at her throne and sat down on it with pride. She asked "How does this all look so far?" -
"It's beautiful," Hunter replies, though he was looking at Annabelle and not the room. "Progress is going fast and steady, it won't take long until the castle is complete," Hunter says with a nod. They'd managed to get some carpets and curtains, but it'd take awhile to have the throne room properly furnished.

Annabelle said "Yes. Then we shall roam across the land and find one of the mystic magic pools that are in the kingdom. Once we find three, then we can use them to take on Queen Amari and reclaim this land for my father."
