Annabelle talked to the orc commander and said "The orcs must stay here. We can't draw too much attention in the town." The commander said "I understand. We'll continue on your castle." Annabelle nodded and waited for Hunter and the goblins to finish.
-
Hunter returned, bags full and ready to take on anything... even an awkward family gathering. God, it was like Thanksgiving all over again. "I'll lead the way, I've made this walk countless times. We'll attempt to not burn the village down this time," Hunter said to Annabelle with a devious smile.
-
The goblins too came out with their supplies such as food for Annabelle and Hunter and weapons for themselves. Annabelle said "Not unless they need to burn. Let's go."
-
Hunter nodded and went to the front of the group. It wasn't very far. He checked the sky and he knew they could make it before nightfall. Hunted then wondered if they'd have to stay the night. Imagine that, an inn trying to house a powerful overlord, her loyal right hand man, and a small army of goblins.
-
Annabelle wondered if Hunter's cousin would come with them willingly. If not, she had ways of making her. Hopefully, she'll be persuaded without having to kill her as well.
-
After an hour or two of traveling Calnace started coming into view. Hunter stood up a bit straighter, knowing they'd be walking through half the town to reach the shopping district and he didn't want to appear weak.
-
Annabelle looked at Calnace and said "Nice place. Be a shame if I had to burn it. Hope they're friendly." She was joking of course, but she wanted to see Hunter's reaction.
-
"If they're not it's fine, we'll only need Cyra. The other townsfolk are expendable." Hunter assured Annabelle. He could think of no one that matched his cousins talent, if they used her she could be mass producing basically unbreakable weapons that could slice theough fairies like butter.
-
Annabelle smirked at Hunter's comment. She then said "Well, I guess we shouldn't worry then. I'm sure they'll fear me one way or another."
-
"Ain't that the truth," Hunter agreed as they crossed the threshold of the path into town. The passerby, however, seemed more confused than terrified. It seemed like Amara was keeping Annabelle under wraps so that townsfolk wouldn't panick. Hunter scoffed. Did the fairy queen really think that she could stop them before word of their force spread?
-
(Amari.)
Annabelle looked at the townsfolk, who did nothing but stare as they past. They did recognize her as some sort of person in power, but not as a threat. She simply paid no mind to them as she walked with Hunter. -
"They probably think we're just nobles or something... With a strange assortment of servants," Hunter said with an amused grin at all of the goblins following them. He passed by some people he'd come to know on his visits here and nodded at them.
-
Annabelle said “Soon, they shall fear me.” One of the goblins took a random merchant’s fruit and the merchant was too nervous to stop him.
-
Hunter began seeing the smoke billowing from the blacksmith's workplace before he saw the building itself. A welcome sight. "Undoubtedly, my queen," Hunter said. Then they turned a corner and once he saw the building he announced, "We're here."
-
Annabelle looked at the building and took of her helmet to see it better. She said "Interesting. And your cousin works here? How will we find her?"
