They relaxed onto the couch as mia served everyone dinner. They held their bird to their chest , before kissing her on the head. “ good girl echo, aren’t you just the love of my life.” They praised with a soft head pat,
( this will be so awkward for poor roman omg.) -
(Awkward for Echo too. She has to watch in heartbreak as Roman takes back everything being said right now from fear.)
(Then again, Echo’s fault for cat fishing lol.)
Echo closed her eyes and breathed deeply, trying to calm her flustered feeling, knowing she was just a pet to Roman. However it felt beyond amazing to be this loved. Not even her own parents showed her much affection, this being by far the most affection she ever felt. Echo was happy to drown in it as she cooed softly. -

Wasn't that the name of some figure in Greek mythology that could only repeat the last thing she heard " Serena rambled laying on her back and brushing her long bushy hair.

“It’s an Irish name.” Lucy told them, having studied Irish culture once when she was curious what her birth parents might have been like. She drew the conclusion that her parents were alcoholic immigrants that had to give her up to Children’s Aide. -

“ please. We’re begging you, keep your trousers in!” Mia said quickly,” I’ll just turn the Air conditioning on, you absolute mad lad,” shemuttered. “ it’s autumn you absolute fool.”
Roman smirked finsishing their food “ mia, I sleep basically in the nude with no covers all year round!” They snorted at her expression.
“ I’m kidding, only in the summer, you’ve seen my pyjamas.” They teased.
They held Echo very close to them again. “ see, I bet if echo was a human she wouldn’t care that I sleep in then due sometimes.”

"Roman , are you completely sure about that?" Serina teased softly , rolling off the loveseat and asking "Are they here?" Serena asked, as she called their adoptive parents that, and she had slept in so long , she had no clue but wanted to know.

Echo tried to keep calm and withhold the foolish urge to transform then and there. She knew that her true form couldn’t be accepted, especially not by someone raised by humans. Monster hunters for that matter.
“If She was a human, this would be considered flirting. So yeah, maybe she would.” Lucy chuckled, leaving to turn up the AC. -
“ look, you don’t understand because I’m your older sibling but I’m very sexy.” Roman drawled before snorting. “ they then scowled when they got an Instagram notification.”
“ Mia...she’s doing it again.” Christine had posted on her friends insta, making out with her apparently new boyfriend.
Mia pulled out her phone and called Christine.
Roman glared but softened as they pet echo. “ you think I’m sexy right girl.” She asked, jokingly to tease their siblings. -
"You're a weirdo Roman. But don't worry we still love you!! " she teased softly and asked again "Are the guardians home?" She refused to call them mom and dad

“Nah, they aren’t home. Roman, quit flirting with the bird. You look like a creep.” Lucy sighed, sitting back down.
Echo looked up at Roman and thought about how heartbreaking it would be when her true form was revealed. She let out a soft coo before showing tiredness, knowing it would be easier if she was alone with them to reveal herself and leave. -
Meanwhile, in a pub hidden from the human eye, Clover had watched the sunset in suspicion and used a locator spell on her cousin. “That idiot! That reckless, foolish, headstrong, selfish, blind, moron of a girl!” Clover ranted as she poured a glass of whisky to calm down with. “Lord help that poor fool...” She sighed before drinking it.

"Can I leave then?" She asked the two oldest siblings tapping her feet impatiently waiting for an answer

“ no” Mia said sternly, “ we don’t know when they’ll be back, Roman shirt on now, or go be nude in your room, Ser, but on a seat and finish’s your dinner, lucy dinner now.” She ordered.
Roman grudgingly put their shirt back on. “ isn’t this bullying echo?” They huffed beforehand they smiled “ tired baby?” They asked gently before going to put echo into a Bird cage. -
“I have dinner!” Lucy pouted, eating the last of her icecream.
Echo looked nervously at the cage, knowing she wouldn’t be able to reveal her true form in there. She flew out of Roman’s hands, landing snuggly and resting in their hair. -
Kurieite finished eating and put his plate in tge sink before going outside
