"There are many rumours to that. Some say her mother abused her after her father died and the teacher was her parent figure. Others say she hosted a secret club in the classroom with her best friends, who are ghosts in there with her. Some choose to put it more simply, saying she was a nerd." He chuckled. I listened in great interest, wondering where I would be if I was a ghost.
-
"Hmm, so it's either a sad story or a boring one. Hey, what if someone's favorite 'room' was the outdoors? Would their ghost be connected to outside?" I asked curiously.
-
"Yeah. You'll learn about ghosts and stuff in the Magical Species course. Don't ask too many questions or teachers wil, think you're cheating." He chuckled. "My name's Garret by the way." He added, but he didn't offer his hands to shake, which remained in his pockets.
-
"But what if I am cheating and I'm asking questions to make it seem like I'm not?" I asked, I wasn't cheating for the record, I just wanted to hear his response.
-
"Then you better hope we're on the same team or I'll tattle." He chuckled. "Team?" I asked. "Yeah, the school here has four teams, kinda like Hogwarts with the same point system. You don't do everything with your team though, only the school events and meals." He explained.
-
"What are the teams?" I asked. I had other things to say, but at the moment my curiosity overrode all other thoughts.
-
"Well, there's Dallas, Kalland, Faggon, and Wallad. Like Hogwarts they are named after the school founders, Hanna Dallas, who specialized in all things for travelers, Daniel Kalland, who specialized in everything for Civilization, Christopher Faggon, who specialized in all things for warriors, and Selena Wallad, who specialized in magic. I'm in Dallas." Garrett explained.
-
"Was this school based off of Hogwarts or was Hogwarts based off of this school?" I asked before continuing, "And shouldn't the traveler team be it's own, I don't know, traveling school?"
-
"Neither, it was a coincidence. And considering the whole point is this school is for disabled magical creatures and cursed humans, wouldn't denying them education on hunting, survival, and other important things under that category be a terrible idea?" He replied.
-
"I guess, but does your team travel at all?" I asked, if it didn't I would be really annoyed. It wouldn't really be a travel team if they never traveled.
-
"We learn how to live as travelers. All of us will learn about combat, traveling, sorcery, and civilization. However each house makes sure to teach you more in the field said house specializes in. So when we do a sorcery event, Wallad has the advantage. During a survival event, Dallas has the advantage. During a Culture event, Kallan has the upper hand, and finally if it's a martial arts event then Faggon has the upper hand." Garret explained. "Hey Garret, what's your reason for being at this school?" I asked him. He had a slight beard, curly brown hair in an 80's hair do, and bright silver eyes, which farted away at my question.
-
(*darted, eyes can't fart)
-
(Pffft, what are you talking about? Of course they can!)
"But you don't travel? If I was on the Dallas team, which I might end up being, I would feel really cheated if we travel." I said. And for Astrid's question, I remembered Garret not offering his hand for a shake. "Can you not touch people?" I asked. Of course, he could just not like touching people, or maybe he didn't see the point in handshakes or forgot, but by the time I thought of that I had already asked my question.
