"Maybe a little." She replied to the insane question. She smirked and half of her was relieved by his anger. It fueled the strength to not be attracted to him. The other half of her backfired on the relieved part, finding his anger funny and kinda cute. She rolled her eyes, mostly to herself, before continuing. "As for not stopping, I knew Claire wouldn't allow herself to get hurt because of my thrill. Worst casenario would be her flinging us off so she could stop. So I knew we wouldn't die or anything." Cassady explained. She yawned, her adrenaline fading and leaving her in a tired state. "Let's go check in." She told him as she walked to the door. "Hopefully we can get separate rooms." She yawned, not meaning to say that out loud. However she didn't really care that she did.
-
Daniel said "Oy." Once at the desk of the inn, The Innkeeper said "Welcome to The Turkey Inn. May I help you?"
-
"Hello. We're Knights sent by the king. We are needing a place to stay tonight for our journey to stop Mordac. We're hoping for two rooms, plus a stable for my horse." Cassady told the woman, knowing she would have to do most of the talking.
-
The Innkeeper said "Alright." looked at his book to find any availabilities. He looked back up and said "I'm afraid we only have one room available at this time. All the others are taken. Would that be okay?"
-
"Okay. Does it have two separate beds?" Cassady asked, keeping a serious expression and calm voice although she was nervous.
-
The Innkeeper said "All of our rooms have two beds except for the couples room, both of which are taken. So yes." Daniel said "We'll take it. How much?" "Usually it's 5 silver pieces per guest, per day. So 10 silver pieces. Though if you're interested, because you are the Kings knights, I can give you a discount. Half off."
-
"Thank you. We'll take it." Cassady replied. She placed five silver pieces on the table before walking out to put Claire in the stables.
-
The Innkeeper took the pieces and walked with Daniel to the room they would be staying at.
-
Cassady returned to the hotel, after happily meeting the Female stable master. She was glad she didn't have to deal with any perverts here. Although, no perverts she would meet on this journey would be her teacher. So she would have no issue kicking their ass.
-
Daniel sat on a bed in the room waiting for Cassady.
-
Cassady entered the room and plopped down on the bed Daniel wasn't sitting on. She would have past out, but she never fell asleep in her life. Especially when around other people. She knew there were many people who wouldn't hesitate to hold a pillow over her head. So she just laced there, half asleep, her ears alert.
-
Daniel lay on the bed he was on and actually went to sleep. He was a light sleeper so he didn't worry too much about people trying to kill him.
-
Cassady listened to him sleep. She hated that she liked listening to him sleep. For some reason, it made her feel safe and she drifted to the first real sleep she has had since the age of ten.
-
The next morning, Daniel woke up and rubbed his eyes. He looked outside and wondered where Mordac was at this moment.
-
Cassady blinked awake, sunlight peeking through her eyes. She sighed peacefully, enjoying the long missed luxury of sleeee......... Wait.... Sleep... Sleep!?! Cassady suddenly sprang up to a sitting position with a look of horror on her face. She breathed deeply, looking around. Once she decided she was alive, she sighed in relief and looked at Daniel, hoping he didn't notice her sudden panic. It had been years since she slept for real. What was happening to her? Why did she feel that sudden false sense of security?
