They entered the restaurant and sat down. Laura ordered some chocolate mint tea to start with. "What would you like?" The woman asked Archaios.

"Just some water please" he said shyly, his ears going down as he played his his tail

The waiter stared at Archaios's tail curiously before walking away. Laura watched the waiter, a bit worried. Then turned her attention to Archaios. "What was your life like before we met?" She asked after a long moment of silence.

Archaios fidgeted " i dont really remember a whole lot, i know that about a month ago i was dropped off in mexico by some FBI and about 12 years before that my parents..." he trailed off, looking uncomfortable

"Sorry." Laura replied, looking away. She didn't want to make him uncomfortable. She just wanted to start conversation. Silence brought up bad memories. Some good... But combined with other memories made those ones sad...

"Its ok" Archaios said softly "i really need to stop letting it bother me, when it happened so long ago"

"The past is like a ghost. Quiet, silent, and invisible... But incredibly haunting... And can't be contained or hidden." She told him. Laura stared off into space, watching a man propose to his date at one table. And a father playing peek-a-boo with his two year old daughter at the other. A tear rolled down her cheek as her own statement echoed in her mind.

Archaios looked down at his hands as he fell silent, his tail laying across his lap

Laura frowned, turning to him as she tried to think of conversation starters... "How did you get your powers?" She asked, hoping that was okay to ask.

Archaios rubbed the back of his head sheepishly "im not sure how i got my shape shifting, but i discovered my telekinesis when i was tree, by sending a bowl of peas threw a window"

Laura laughed softly as she imagined a bowl of peas flying through the window. "Why did you throw peas out the window?" She asked as the waiter gave them their drinks.

Archaios blushed slightly as his tail twitched "i dont like peas very much" he said, embarrassed

"Oh. Okay." Laura replied, noticing his blushing. Laura forced herself to ignore it as she blushed. "I was born with my powers." She told him. Although born was a strong word... She didn't exactly want to say cloned. That would freak him out...
