Archaios curled up on the floor when he saw they had entered a town and rested his head on his front feet

"You might want to turn human. We're going to arrive at the hotel soon." Laura suggested, smiling as she watched him from the corner of her eye.

Archaios flinched slightly but nodded, closing his eyes before he started changibg back, whimpering in pain. One of the largest downsides of his shape shifting ability is that he couldnt due it very often, as every time he changed form he burned off thousands of calories, and his body usually ended up weakening his immune system and bones as a result. If he changed to often, he would up in a lot of pain as his bones would quite literally start to disintegrate

Laura frowned. "Are you okay?" She asked, pulling into the hotel parking lot and examining Archaios. She felt her heart nearly stop as he whimpered in pain.

Archaios nodded slightly, bitting his tongue to keep from whimpering again as he finished changibg to his human form, although he was clearly thiner and was white as a sheet

After checking into their room, Laura got back into the car and drove to a restaurant. She bought a bottle of vitamins and a few grapes at the store on the way so that Archaios could use them to get his energy back.

Archaios shivered and pulled himself in to the seat, curling up in a little ball

"Eat the grapes. They'll give you energy." Laura ordered. "Take a vitamin too. It will help your immune system." She added, pulling into the restaurant parking lot.

He nodded and took a vitamin before he started nibbling on the grapes

"Do you want to go in or should I order some take out?" Laura asked as she stopped the car. She studied the restaurant and decided she should freshen up before she went in. So she cleaned her face with a damp was cloth and carefully brushed her hair.

"Up to you" he said as he finished eating the grapes

She offered Archaios the wash cloth and studied her clothes. They were ripped and her shirt had blood stains. She climbed over the seat and into the back. She took off her jacket and took a blanket to hang up so Archaios couldn't see in the back. Then she got dressed into skin coloured leggings, a black mini skirt, and a dark blue dress shirt. She pulled her hair into a ponytail before getting out the back door. She opened Archaios door and smiled. "Coming?" She asked.

Archaios cleaned his face before running a hand though his hair, blinking when she opened the door. He nodded and then carefully got out od tge truck

Laura smiled as they walked towards the restaurant. She locked the doors before they entered and felt a sense of happiness. She nearly felt like a normal person as they entered the restaurant.

Archaios smiled as he walked behind her, looking around aa his ears twitched
