"In this restrauant? Well they eat" I said chuckling, Steele came with a tray of our food just a minute later, I grinned rather happy to finally eat
-
Elias tilted his head, never exactly being perceptive of tom-foolery or jokes or anything along those lines. He itched his temple, pulling his lips into a questionable grimace. "Well, no..? I meant, like, what do people do here, in this town, for fun?" Zinark's response sat with him for a moment and he soon found it to be more amusing as the seconds passed. His laugh started quiet, soon becoming just a bit louder, so much to the point that it was required he cover his mouth. "I'm sorry. What you said was funny." When the food was placed on the table, a goofy grin appeared on his facial features. He picked up a fork, poking around the salad as he examined what may have been different about it.
-
I chuckled a bit harder grinning in a goofy way, "I'm not really sure of everyone but they like to do their favorite hobbies or just walk around shopping and maybe walking and other stuff" I said closing my scarred eye trying to see the fork right and reached over to pick it up, I was really hoping that my injured eye and bad depth perception wouldn't really be noticeable, it felt just a bit uncomfortable and awkward to fumble around with stuff
-
Elias understood and took to eating his food for a short while. It was relatively tasteful, but there was an ingredient he was not capable of indicating that was bothering him slightly due to the spiciness associated with it. Thankfully, the coffee suppressed this feeling. As he ate, he would glimpse at Zinark, and being the observational individual he was, noticed the peculiar actions being performed by the other male. He bit down on his lip, setting his own utensils back onto the table and crossing his arms. A worried expression was then painted onto his face as he came to the realization that the monster owned a scar on one of his eyes. He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, leaning in slightly, "What happened to your eye, if I am permitted to ask?"
-
I smiled but it seemed slightly nervous, "I was hurt, just an injury that messes with that eye's vision a little" I said softly hoping I wouldn't have to go deeper and explain how I got scarred there, my ears lowered slightly
-
Elias' eyes squinted slightly, his lips pursing suspiciously. In a hushed voice, he responded, "Did somebody do something to you?" If Zinark were to answer affirmatively, Elias would make it his personal goal to track down and put to justice the perpetrator. If they had been so willing to injure someone as innocent as Zinark, the boundaries were basically nonexistent. As he awaited an answer, he took a few more bites of his salad, nibbling on the chicken. It was cooked to perfection juicy yet tender.
-
I paused not really sure what to say, I didn't want him to worry, I really didn't, my ears lowered a bit more, "uh... It was actually me, I accidentally hurt myself" I said forcing myself to chuckle a little, "please don't worry it really doesn't get in the way a lot" I said, but I knew that wasn't true
-
Elias automatically returned to his previously overjoyed state of mind. "I trust you, Zinark." It was only a few minutes later that he had inhaled the rest of his food, placing his utensils neatly on the plate. He drank the rest of his coffee, the hot liquid leaking down his throat and warming his insides. He placed the cup on top of the plate. Yanking his wallet from his pocket, he set it on the table, wondering when they would receive the check. In his old town, the waiters would drop it off directly after they were informed that the party was ready for it. He wasn't sure how it went at that particular establishment. "Do you want dessert?"
-
I nervously grinned, "no I think I stuffed myself" I said, there were just a few bites left of the large crusty piece of pie but it was too filling and I didn't want to have another bite, I wasn't sure if I ate too fast, my stomach felt a bit funny, I realized by fast eating maybe caused me to over eat a little and made my stomach a bit upset
-
Elias gave a quick thumbs up, calling over a nearby worker and explaining that they were finished and would like the check. The adorable little puff ball of a waiter jumped excitedly, bowing and hurrying off to fetch the check. Elias folded his fingers, a bit antsy as he wanted to return to his work, but who was also at ease as he was finally living life as it should. He leaned against his hand after resting his elbow on the table.
-
I chuckled a little seeing the waiter rushing off seeming rather excited, I looked back towards Elias noticing he seemed anxious or maybe impatient, "is there somewhere you have to go?" I asked tilting my head a little
-
Elias shook his head. "No, no, I'm just a little excited because this place is new to me and it is really cool." The boy pulled his scarf back up and wrapped it around his neck, thanking the puff that brought them their check. Yanking the thin receipt from its pocket, examining the price of the entire meal. It was fairly reasonable at a kind 18.25. Elias had always been fairly generous, offering a hefty tip in response to the service he received. He opened his wallet, sifting through it for two twenty dollar bills. Folding the bills, he signed the check, placing both the check and the payment into the pocket he had taken it from in the first place. He hoped that Steele would appreciate the money, or at least put it to good use. It always felt good to give somebody something they could utilize at a later time. Smiling in Zinark's direction, he asked, "Would you like to hang out here or is there another place you want to go?"
-
"I'm wondering if we could go to the nearby park or field, it is a nice day after all!" I said with a goofy grin, my odd tail thumped against the back of my chair
-
Elias allowed himself to ponder on the possibility of this, eventually giving an unsure nod. There was a variety of activities the both of them could partake in at a place of such leisure. The idea that it was a 'nice day' made Elias a bit weary, however, as it was rather brisk. With the snow on the ground, he thought it would be difficult to get around efficiently. "So, I'm assuming you like the winter?" the teenager asked with a grin, standing and beginning to put on his pea coat once again.
-
"I do like making shapes out of the snow sometimes, but I don't like being out when it is too cold, it is ok for me today so I think it is one of those nicer winter days" I said, "I guess I like winter a little" I said chuckling a little
