Mar leaned up, opening his eyes as he heard knocking at his door. Looking over to it for a few moments in silence thinking about who it may be, thinking it was his brother, though he usually came right in so it probably was not. "Enter." he said simply, loud enough so they could hear him, whoever it was. Laying back down on his back, his eyes still to the door though, as he waited.
-
Kiera took a deep breath and then opened the large door. She closed it behind her and looked at the boy. She hadn't expected him to be so young, so close to her age. "I was sent from your brother. I suppose as the surprise?" She stood by the door, not sure what else she should do or say.
-
Mar stared at the girl who had opened his door, listening to her. So she is the surprise of my brother? he thought to himself as he leaned up once again to get a better view of the girl there at the door standing. Looking around his age. "A girl is this surprise my brother meant? What for? Do you know why? For i do not." he said to the girl as he studies her. She seemed a bit shorter than he was, and a bit skinny as he kept staring at her.
-
She shuffled her feet a little and responded. "I can't say, and I don't know much either. I hardly know the man myself." She held his gaze. She could tell he was looking her over, and it made her feel self conscious of the state she was in compared to the the people of the royal palace. They were well groomed and fed, but she was far from that.
-
Still the Code here.)
Mar kept staring at her, how she looked. She was dressed differently than the people he have seen, those being servants and the guard's and some loyalty now and again from elsewhere mainly. He was curious to know about her at the time. "My brother must have good reason for this then." he said to her. Noticing she was still at the door standing there, he motioned to a chair that stood at the side of his bed. "Feel free to have a seat. Isn't good to have a guest in my room standing the whole time." he said. -
Kiera took that chair and faced it towards the prince before sitting down. "I would hope he does." She started to rub the aching spot on her shoulder where the tip of the whip mark was, but she quickly pulled her hand back in pain. "So, was there a special occasion possibly?" She asked curiously.
-
Mar nodded his head to her question, looking at her in the chair. "Special occasion? Hmm...well, today is the day, or was the day, that I turned sixteen. That may be it." he replied to her. "Are you Alright?" he asked her after a bit. His head tilted slightly in Curiousity as he thought some. "If I may ask, how old are you?"
-
"Uh, I just have a scratch." She lied, giving a slight smile. "I'm fifteen. At least I think I'm around that age." She thought for a moment. "I've never really celebrated a birthday before." Kiera watched him, curious as to being in the same room with a royal. Someone who most people don't know much about, but there she was.
-
Mar shook his head to her a bit, but didn't question it. "Fifteen? You are not sure though..? Why? You do look around that though.." he said to her, smiling slightly. "Do you know when your birthday is?" he asked her curiously, trying to find out about the girl, by asking these. She seemed interesting to him, she wasn't like the others he has seen.
-
She shrugged. "I'm not sure of the exact date. I know it's in late August. I know that because I feel a change when the leaves and animals do. I hope I don't sound silly for thinking such a think." She smiled, hoping she sounded sane enough to be understood. The prince seemed interested in her, which was good in her case.
-
Mar nodded his head to the girl in front of him. "Late August? That is close by, is it not? We shall ensure that sometime around then, even of not the true day, you will celebrate one." he spoke to her with a small smile afterward to her. Adjusting himself where he was as his hands came together, thinking a bit as he kept his eyes on her.
-
Kiera shook her head at the thought. "Oh, no. I don't feel that is necessary. See, I would not even know what to do during a birthday. Do people dress up for those events, or feast?" She chuckled. "I really do not know." A feast sounded good at the moment. She had not eaten since the night before, and that was one of the two meals she a got a day. Breakfast and dinner. But she had been too busy that morning to eat breakfast.
-
Mar stared at the girl before him in silence for a moment, shaking his head to her a bit. "Sometimes people do, I believe. In the castle, usually a feast is given, yes. That I do know. I don't usually stay there for if anything happens after, so I am unsure of then." he said to her. He didn't like being surrounded by many people 21st a time, so he would stay for the flood and just leave most times back to his room.
-
She watched his lips as he spoke, almost not hearing what he said. "That sounds... Nice. Food actually sounds nice at the moment." She had said quietly. The thought of eating hadn't been on her mind since she had mentioned it. Kiera had such a busy day that she hadn't payed much attention to anything but being presentable. But it turned out that the Prince seemed calm and laid back.
