After what felt like an hour of just standing there, though he had just been standing for a few minutes truly, Mar decided to do something aside from just "stand and wait" so he began to pace back and forth. Wall to wall in the large room. The room which consisted of his rather large bed in the direct center, and a mirror on the far right side of the room. To the left led to his closet area, and above the bed stood a random assortment of items ranging from a lightsource, to some paintings, and other items of the such. Most of which were done by him, whic he did I'm some of his spare time. "Knowing my brother, when he said a 'surprise' it may come to be something I would not expect. Though it is that, right? So what is something that I, Mar, would not expect.." he asked himself. Placing his hand upon his chin as he drifted into thought.

(Alright, I'm going to head off to bed now. Goodnight.)
There was one little duckling that was smaller than the rest, the runt you could say. She took extra care in making sure it ate and drank enough, and was content. She fed the mother and ducklings pieces of bread and seeds, carefully, one by one. Once everyone was taken care of, she would feed and groom th pigs as best as she could. There were only so many supplies she would use. She gave the last piglet a scratch on the head and went to the bunks where she could relax.
She knew her thoughts were far fetched, but what if the rumor was true? And what if she really did get picked? Even if she did, she was sure that she would be there long. -
Goodnight, meepe)
Thought slowly flowed into his head, but none would make sense to have gotten him. Some were rather impossible, ome-being death-he knew his brother would not do. The two were a bit close considering they only had one another when their parents had died a few years ago thus why Dex Became the king. "He's...not going to force me into marriage is he?" Mar asked himself as he came to a halt. He knew his brother had married a young woman, but not who. Never having met them. Sex, for a few months, has been bringing up the Topix occasionally, though Mar thought he would just be messing around. He hopes that he was not going to be forced to do so, it was something that he never really thought about. Having being alone most of the time too. what is this anyway... -
The bunks were not even bunks. They were simply piles of straw big enough for the person who slept there. One wrong turn in the night and you're on the ground, which wasn't much of a difference. She gathered her skirts and tossed to her side. The rumor ran through Kiera's head, keeping her thinking. It was like a sliver of hope. Something to look forward to besides taking care of the animals. Not that there was anything wrong with that, she just wanted more in life. More as in better.

Just noticed this. I messed up some too in that last post XD)
Mar bowed his head down as he came to a stop. A sigh escaping as he closed his eyes for the time. Slowly stepping to the middle of his room as he soon took a seat at the bottom of his bed. "Curious to find out what exactly this is...but scared at the same time." he said quietly with a quiet laugh as he shook his head. Laying down upon his back with his arms spread out. And still with some room left on the bed. His arms not even reaching the edges. This bed is so big. Yet I'm the only one in here, ever. Why must it be so? he asked himself. -
(It's fine. I was also wondering when his brother would go to get the slave because I'm running out of ideas here XD)
There would be a public announcement at some point. Soon maybe. It could be at anytime in the day, but she hoped soon. The slaves would gather in the Plaza Centre, and wait to be inspected, then chosen. Kiera felt it was unlikely for her, mostly because she was young and a simple peasant. If he chooses a boy, he will choose a strong, good-looking boy. Or if it's a girl, he'll choose one about his age, one that's very pretty and funny and...
She let her thoughts drift off until she caught herself awkwardly staring at somebody in the distance. At least they had not seen her. She rolled onto her back and sighed. -
Oh XD The long guy sent a messenger person or whatever to go and collect them[as said in plot anyway?] so...they can be there/almost there? I don't know XD )
Mar sighed lightly, shaking his head some more. Confusion and Curiousity all in his mind as to what he is to expect. His eyes closed shut as he attempted toempty his mind of the thought of what to expect-he would make do with whatever it was, someway or another. But somethings could be better than others as well. His head fall ing to the side as his eyes peeked open to stare at a small book-reaching over towards it as he grasped it in his fingers. A blank front and back. Not remembering the book, or reading it before, he slid open to the pages, scanning through it to see if it seemed interesting at all. -
(oh ok)
The owner of the land came into the bunks and started picking a few people out, mostly young ones. He eyed her for a moment and grabbed her arm, yanking her up. "Hey! What are you doing?" She knew she hadn't have said anything, but it was too late. The other people he had chosen walked out to where he pointed, he pulled her away from them. "Filthy peasant. You think you have a say in your life? You don't." He sneered and brought out a leather whip. They were on the other side of the door, where nobody could see the two. "I-" She had hardly said a thing before it came down on her in two hard streaks. She gasped in pain. He tossed the whip and pulled her towards the others. "It's not like you'll get picked anyways. He said he only wanted young ones." He muttered. Kiera was puzzled for a moment until she saw a man dressed up in royals clothes. And then it clicked. He was one of the royals. He was the prince. -
I forgot about this. I'm bookmarking it so I remember XD)
Mar smiled and nodded at the book, going back to the beginning after a bit. It seemed interesting to him-it was about, from what he saw, a young pair of a bit And a girl who adventured around the land's. Thieves, it seemed, but they were more like heroes. The helped the poor by taking from the greedy and overpowerful. Their hands never being stained in blood. So, with this, he began his read of the book.
[I'll control messenger Boris here..]
Boris stood where he was in the royal clothing that was supplied by the king. Waiting for the man to collect all of the people whom there were to 'choose' from. The king have strict orders to follow with what kind-and who to choose in the end. But to consider all options-but the main point was to choose one who seemed the true prince's are of sixteen, among a few other things that was included. So he stood there awaiting for it to start as he glanced around at all that had came in view of him.
(hopefully good..?) -
(wait so is his brother the king?)
He shoved her in line with the other teenagers. She took one glance at the messenger before looking back at the ground, hoping he didn't catch her eye. The whip marks stung her back tremendously. Kiera all ready felt the warm blood in the fabric of her dress. It stung, but she didn't want to not get picked for making a face from wincing. "All right, this is what I've got, sir. Best of the batch, you could say." He chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. -
Yeah, Mar's brother-Dex, is the king.)
Boris, the messenger, nodded his head to the man. "I see. Hmm.." he said stepping forward as he observed the boys and girls that stood before him. "The king have strict orders for no males.." he said quietly, walking by all of them. Studying the females before him. Shaking his head now and again at the ones that didn't seem to meet enough of what he was looking for. "You, miss, name please? You seem to be the closest to what I am searching for here..and lift your head." he said. Raiding a hand and pointing to the girl-coming to a stop in front of her. His face blank of any emotion or anything. -
(ok ok)
She looked up at him and gulped. "It's Kiera Day." She replied. She wasn't as quiet as she thought she would be when she spoke, it was almost as if she sounded confident in herself. I couldn't possibly be picked. No me... , she thought to herself. She didn't feel like it was likely, but then again, maybe it was. -
Yes, ma'am.)
"Kiera Day?" Boris repeated as he reached into his pocket, pulling out a piece of paper from it. Opening up the folded paper he read over it, glancing up at the girl before him every couple of seconds with a slight nod of his head. After a minute he placed the paper back within his pocket as a small smile came to him with a final nod. "This one Will do..this, Kiera Day, here mister. Seems to fit.." he said turning to the man. -
The slave keeper nodded. "Excellent. Will that be all, sir?" He seemed a bit nervous, almost anxious to get the man off his property, as if he would find a reason to not like him. Kiera looked between the two as they talked. She couldn't believe it. Of all the girls, which wasn't a whole lot, she was picked. What was so special about her? She did have brilliantly blue eyes, but her blonde hair was a mess and she was filthy from hardly being able to get ahold of water to clean herself regularly.
