Boris's voice had brought Kiera out of deep thought as she had been soaking in all the new sights. "All right." She sat forward to continue watching her surroundings. There were a group of kids playing with mud in a ditch. It seemed filthy, but they were happy making drawings in the mud and throwing it at each other. She smiled a bit trying to grab once last glance at them as their ride continued.

Burrito meepo~-~)
Boris watched at the people that they passed, slowly becoming more and more, which soon became a rare sight at seeing any citizens as they approached the castle towering overhead. "What do you think?" he asked her, looking towards the castle they were approaching quickly now. -
(aye my bf had a huge ass burrito today XD)
"Oh, wow. It's very... Large. I can't imagine how one could memorize the place." Of course she hadn't been in a place larger than the bunks besides the farmland, which was only a few dozen acers of land. Not that she had really been allowed to explore it, but she mostly stayed by the stables with small animals such as the pigs and chicken. Kiera watched a pair of gaurds lift the gate for the carriage to go into royal grounds. -
Would have replied earlier, but I started watching Captain America: Civil War)
Boris chuckled and nodded his head a bit. "Living-or working, in my case, here you learn where everything is. It's easier than you would expect it to be." he said to her. Thinking back to when he had first started working at the castle, all the times he had got lost trying to figure out where what was. Took him about a year to fully get it well, but still not all. "To be honest-i still get lost at times inside. Be careful." he said. As they rode through the gates, he could see the king standing at the door leading inside of the castle up ahead. Dex's hands behind his back as he stood straight up, watching them come in. -
(It's fine. I understand, man. XD)
Kieras blue eyes caught the king's and she held his gaze until the carriage came to a stop. She looked at Boris, then at the king's men who came to open the carriage doors. She felt her back ache where the whip marks were, but she reminded herself to look presentable, and not in pain or weak. She didn't want to lose her life to looking bad. The door opened and a gloved hand was offered to her. Kiera looked at the man and took the hand to be led off of the carriage. -
Yeah XD)
Boris stepped out of the carriage and looked up to where the king was standing ahead of him, walking over to the other side where Kiera was at he stood beside the men there, waiting for the king to come and inspect the girl he had chosen.
Dex slowly started down the steps towards where the girl had came to. Staring at her as he studies her. "Hmm.." he made a sound as he came to a stop a few feet from them. "Might I ask your name, miss?" he asked her. -
"It is Kiera Day, your majesty." She curtsied, pulling the skirt of the dress out, and then came back up to meet his eye. He was much taller than her, so she had to look more up than eye level with the King. And she was also nervous, but not as nervous as she thought she would be. The pain in her back became a steady throb. She winced slightly, but then returned her face to normal, hoping the King did not catch her. But it was not likely he did.
-
Dex nodded slightly, looking into her eyes as he stood there. Watching her closely. He saw a slight quick change in her face before it went back to as it was, but didn't question it. He knew where she was from, so had an idea of why she did so. 'Kiera Day, what are you good at? I'm sure Boris had told you a bit why you are here, no?" he asked her.
Boris nodded his head to himself truly, and to the king, standing there listening to the two of them. Nervous himself, because this could result in his death of not done well. -
She watched his eyes as he spoke. "I suppose taking care of animals. Nursing them back to health when they were sick was my specialty. I wasn't taught much else in my lifetime." She paused, thinking about her next words. "And I can't say Boris had told me a lot about why I'm here." She hoped that was the right thing to say. It was the truth, so how could she get in trouble? She looked to Boris and then back to the King.
-
Dex sighed lightly and nodded his head. "Better than nothing, I suppose.." he said quietly. Still staring at her standing there, in thought, was he. "My younger brother-the prince, Mar. You are to serve him, help him, aid..." he said, thinking for more to speak of what was to do as he was silent for a moment, before speaking again. "Befriend him, get to know him, as he shall you." he said taking a small step back, looking at all in front of him. "Do you think you are up to this?" he asked her.
-
Kiera nodded. "I am." She didn't want to say much else in hopes that she won't ruin her chance to live. She felt as if he could change his mind at any moment. She heard one of the king's men behind her get in the carriage to put it and the horses away. "Will I be meeting Prince Mar shortly?" She asked, curious.
-
Dex nodded his head after a moment of thinking to her. "Yes, soon. Come, Kiera." he said waving a hand to follow him as he started into the castle. "For the first few days you'll be observed when possible. Depending on how you do, determines whether you live...or you die." he said to her, loud enough to be heard as he passed through the doors inside.
-
(I though Dex was going to end up being aggressive or something XD)
She gulped and then followed the King. The halls were adorned with scenic tapestry and the occasional hanging plant. Kiera looked at everything from pattern of the stone walls to the intricate designs in the tapestry. There were moments when she had to walk a little faster to catch up with the King, but besides that, she had no problem following him. The king's men had gone off elsewhere, so it was now just the two. -
XD)
Dex started up the king line of stairs leading up to the top floor of the castle, where Mae's room was located at. Far from the others, and a clear view of the place from the window. He only looked behind him to make sure that Kiera was following him, all the way up. Coming to a stop at a wooden door painted in the light blue of the kingdom. "Mar awaits within the walls of this room." he said turning to look at her. "He does not know that you are here though, or why. This is where I leave you. Go." he said before walking back down the stairs pass her to leave her there alone.
Mar had just finished reading the book in which he had started on, replacing it back to where he found it as he sat upon his bed and leaned his back upon it, getting comfortable. His eyes shut closed, as he wandered the depths of his mind, thinking. -
After King Dex had left, Kiera mentally prepared herself to confront the prince. She hadn't had much a clue of what she would do or what her true purpose would be. She finally knocked on the door, three solid hits. She took a step back and quickly combed her fingers through her hair to make it look as good as it could get, then her made sure her hair covered her back where the marks were.
