Ariel walked on, his expensive shoes hitting the ground loudly. There were only two other cars in the parking lot. He didn't recognize them, no. He even looked at the license plates. Well, that was good. Ariel wasn't exactly keen on the idea of running into trouble just after he had bought such a cute new toy. He was perfectly unspoiled as well, like the first page in a new notebook that hadn't yet been wrote on.
They had parked quite close, so it didn't take long for them to enter the superstore. He hadn't yet been to this one, but had heard many positive things about it from fellow angels. Ariel's white hair flew back as a strong gust of wind hit him. What? A small look of fear entered the angel's eyes until he realized- Oh, it was the air conditioning. He rolled his eyes, grabbing a cart and telling the slave to push it. He would stand along side the cart, making sure to guide it where he wanted to go. 'Where to go first? Groceries, toys, pet isle? Ugh, decisions. Such a human thing.'
(I can't stop imagining an angel in f---ing Walmart XD for some reason that's funny to me) -
Elliot followed Ariel into the store. When he was given the shopping cart, he blinked at it, then looked at other shoppers to see what to do with it. Some of the shoppers had pets in the seat at the front. Ever since angels had control, pets were allow d to be taken everywhere. As well as slaves. He noticed that they had their hands on the handle and were pushin it forward. The boy attempted to do the same and was surprise to find that it moved easily.
Upon looking up, Elliot saw a stand that caught his eye. It was labeled, 'Sweets on Sale'. The word sweet was familiar to him. Some of the other slaves would mention that anything sweet was good. He frowned at all of the items on display, though. What were 'cupcakes' and 'cookies'? Were they good? He looked at another stand that said 'Free salsa sample'. He wondered what exactly the word free meant for a store. And was salsa sweet? Without thinking, the human blurt out the question. "Ariel, is salsa sweet?"
(OMF it would be so cute xD) -
(They're like two really confused beings in the store asffhslhdjajsb so cute)
Ariel glanced down at him, thinking on the question for a minute. He hadn't been on Earth very long, and was still relatively new to it. He thought about what he had learned about it.. 'It's from the place they call Mexico, it has tomatoes in it and peppers.. Peppers are spicy and tomatoes aren't sweet..' He shook his head no, "No, it's not. You like sweet stuff, do you?" He asked, tilting his head. This was an interesting bit of information to the angel. Had he ever eaten anything truly sweet, Ariel wondered?
When Ariel first came to Earth he was overwhelmed by the foods and the culture and the flavor. It was all so vivid! All so exciting! No wonder the humans had a tendency of growing obsese, how could you resist the amazing tasting food? Ariel had quickly grown a taste for small, expensive meals such as sushi and sashami. He loved fish, loved caviar. For that reason, a lot of the food he ate was very savory or salty. He had experimented with many flavor palates, though. He was truly enjoying the human's world, it was much better than his own original home.
The angel realized he was standing in the middle of the store, looking around stupidly. He looked confused, no, overwhelmed. He seemed to be lost, as if he didn't know where to go- which wasn't the case at all. -
(Elliot is like a small child lol he hasn't gotten to learn anything)
Elliot waited patiently for an answer. He was tempted to take one of the free salsa cups, but if it wasn't sweet, he figured it might not be worth the trouble. When Ariel said it wasn't sweet, he had a rather disappointed look. The purple haired boy looked away from the salsa and started to explore the rest of the items with his eyes. "I've never had sweet foods. I'm not sure if I like it, but.. A lot of the slaves that were kidnapped said that sweet food was the best. I was thinking about trying it."
With that, Elliot started to move forward, curious to explore all of the store that he could. He realized that the isles were marked by what item was in them. Bouncing lightly on his heels, he started to read for 'toys'. When he saw that isle, he looked at Ariel, an excited look in his eyes. "Can we go to the toy section?" Elliot pleaded, hopeful that he might find something he liked there. He wanted a toy more than anything. He had once had one, before it was taken away from him. He had wanted a new one since then. -
(Ariel is like Castiel mixed with Lucifer on supernatural O.e)
Ariel nodded at the boy's question. "Sure, let's go to the toy section." He smiled widely at the young boy, walking along side the cart as they head to the toy section. There were about six isles of toys. One isle was masculine, another feminine, and then gender neutral isles. The masculine isle was adorned with action figures and such, and the feminine isle was full of dolls and dress up clothing. The gender neutral isle had the robotic animals, stuffed animals, hula hoops, and many games. There were also some infant toys stocked up. Ariel was curious as to which isle the boy would choose, and which toy he would fancy.
The angel had always been amused at a human's need to be fussed over, to be paid attention to, to be amused from. If a human got bored, he found, they wound up in a sour mood, which wasn't much fun to deal with. As a result of this, Ariel always made sure his slaves were happy and occupied. If their morale wasn't high, they could wind up being less fun for himself, and stop obeying him all together. Ariel did enjoy watching them squirm in excitement for toys and clothing, though. And for this reason, he grinned widely as they entered the large section. -
(OMG THAT'S SUCH AN AWFUL MIX xDD)
Elliot's excitement peaked when he realized that he would get to go explore the toys. He was aware that he was a young adult, but he couldn't help but be so pleased over toys. He assumed that maturity didn't come from age. It clearly wasn't his case. As they entered the section, the human realized that it wouldn't be easy picking one out. There were many rows to look down. He felt overwhelmed at all of the options.
He slowly rolled past each isle, peering down them. The first one had toys that had the same boring colors: blue, black, and red. Some things were green, but none of them interested him. He was aware they were toys based off of popular shows. That still didn't make him happy. The next isle was full of too many bright colors. He saw costumes that probably wouldn't fit him, and strange objects that were small. They were cute, but it didn't interest him. The third isle was the one that made him happy, however- it was full of stuffed animals. Elliot almost rammed into the isle in his excitement, and he jumped, deciding that carefully approaching toys would be best.
A lot of the stuffed animals there caught his interest. There were dogs, cats, birds, and other animals. He didn't want those, though. He wanted a penguin. He remembered the pink one he saw in the window of a store back near the auction house. Perhaps he would find a penguin plush there. He scanned the rows relentlessly, hoping to see a penguin. When he was just about to give up hope, he saw one- a giant blue penguin stuffed toy. Happy, he plucked the penguin off of the shelf and placed it in the basket in front of him. He turned to look back at Ariel with big, hopeful eyes. "Can I have this one?" -
(I know. It's like a really confused but sexy ass angel. That's Ariel. Bam)
Ariel watched the boy closely as he went through the toy section, not wanting him to run off. His red eyes flicked from side to side as he moved. When the boy was finished and had picked out a toy, Ariel had grabbed it from his hands and scanned it. He busted into gentle laughter. His voice as he laughed was soft, not mocking at all. "It's very cute," He said, "Sure, of course you can have it. Do you want to carry it as we shop?" Ariel had almost placed it inside the cart, but he realized many human children liked to carry what they were excited about while they were shopping. Even though the slave was an adult now, he was in a child like mindset, so Ariel assumed he was no different.
The red eyed angel knew exactly where they were going next. The clothes his slave had now just plain wouldn't do. He needed new ones. Not that a grocery store was the best place to by clothing, at all. However, Ariel realized the necessity and didn't want to make another stop. Perhaps they would go clothes shopping at a more expensive place later, but they just needed a few outfits to get the boy through the next few days. Unlike many slaves, the boy wouldn't be sitting in the same clothes for eons on end. No, Ariel was above that. He puffed his chest out a little at the thought. -
(That would be hell and heaven's worst creation IRL)
Elliot watched Ariel's expression the entire time the angel held the stuffed animal in his hands. He was worried that perhaps, it cost too much, or that it wasn't cute enough for him. He sighed in relief as the older burst into laughter. It wasn't mean, or taunting, but sweet and soothing. He shook his head at the angel's question, taking it and putting it back in the cart. "I need both hands to control the cart," he explained. "I'll like to have it once we're back in the car, though."
He followed as the angel started off towards a new section, curious to know where they were going. He wasn't sure of what all Ariel wanted to buy at the shop. Elliot was happy enough with the penguin stuffed animal, so he wanted to be the best slave he could be during their shopping time. His gray eyes brightened as he realized they were going to a clothes section.
He had never been permitted clothing other than the dirty white shirt, his tightly fit boxers, the ripped jeans, and some old sneakers with red socks that just didn't match. When they were being washed, he'd have to sit in his holding cell, nude. It wasn't very pleasant, and he often wished he had been able to pick his own clothing. Then again, Elliot wasn't great with colors, and he didn't even know his own clothing size. -
(Or best)
Ariel had then thrown the penguin into the cart, immediately distracted by the route they were now on. They found the clothing section, which had plenty of clothes for both girls and boys. "Get some shorts and a few shirts, and a sweatshirt too. I'll buy you whatever." The angel told him. He was excited to see the purple haired boy's taste in clothing. Ariel, himself, often wore a tuxedo and dress pants. Or he'd wear, like he was now, a flannel dress shirt and dress pants with shiny black dress shoes. He also had black suspenders on. He looked quite formal, which was, after all, the point.
He had seen many styles that the humans had fancied. Some enjoyed a rugged, baggy style, which Ariel looked down upon. Others wore "business casual". Some wore all black, which interested the angel's eye. Some were quite dressy and looked to impress others, with tight, expensive clothing. And others were merely formal. What had peaked the angel's interest the most, not shockingly, was unnatural colored hair among the humans, which is one of the reasons he had chosen the boy as his slave. -
(lolol that is rather true)
Elliot pulled away from the cart, his eyes scanning the rows of clothing. There were a lot of shirts with images on them. He wandered through both of the isles, checking out the feminine shirts and the male ones. Whenever Elliot pulled something down, he held it up to his chest and waist, making sure that it would fit. He figured that was the easiest way to make sure that the clothing would fit. After carefully examining all that there was, he picked out a light blue shirt from the feminine section that had a cat on it, a plain black shirt, a flannel that was navy blue, and a pair of dark-colored shorts.
He was very pleased with his selections. As he walked back to the cart, he noticed a black sweatshirt that had strings on them. It had a tiger on it, and it looked as if the tiger was clawing its way out of the shirt. It was, in Elliot's opinion, adorable. He snatched one down, and returned to Ariel's side, dropping all of it in the cart. The gray eyed human returned to the front of the cart, looking back at him. "Where to next?" -
(Yes yes indeed)
Ariel shrugged. "Probably groceries. We'll need to feed you. It's just over there." He said, pointing to the area across from them. The grocery section was the largest. It had shelves of non perishables, but also a large section of fresh produce in the front. He didn't usually have to shop, he had people for that, but it was a special occasion. Ariel decided he was going to make a pasta with a side of sashimi. He went along, picking out only the best fish. He grabbed tuna, salmon and a few others and placed them into the cart. Ariel then realized the boy would also want snacks. "If you want snacks, go get them." He told him. He ventured off into the isles to grab rice, seaweed, tofu, almonds, wasabi, cheese, Alfredo, some pasta and some other things that he had needed.
He was rather excited for tonight's dinner. He thought it should be quite nice, and hoped to impress his slave by cooking for him on the first day. Ariel rubbed his temples, sensing a small headache coming on. The one thing Ariel hated about being exposed to the human world; He was prone to human emotions and feelings. Pain, sickness, passion. They were all things he was capable of feeling while in the human world, which he detested greatly. None of those were fun for a knight of God to feel. -
Elliot followed the angel through the store without complaints. He was shocked to see such a vast selection of foods that he had never seen before. He recognized some by name, but others were new to him. As he followed Ariel up and down the isles, he peered at everything, wondering what they would all taste like. When the white haired angel spoke, he glanced up, blinking in slight confusion.
"What's a.." Elliot trailed off when he realized April was no longer by his side. The boy looked behind him. No April. He looked in front of him. Still no April. He figured that the angel had left to go find what he wanted. The leash was now dangling at his side. But he wasn't going to run. He didn't have any money to do so and survive. He backed up from the isle, starting to read for anything that read 'snack' to him. He couldn't find a specific isle, but he did see that there was one for cereal two isles down. He wandered over, looking at all of the different choices. He settled on Fruit Loops. In the same isle, there were objects labeled cookies, like there had been in the front. He grabbed a box, wondering what a cookie tasted like. He set those and the cereal box down in the cart and then went back towards the isle he had last seen Ariel in, wondering if he was looking for Elliot. -
Ariel weaved in between the isles at a superhuman pace. It didn't take him much time to find what he had wanted. No, not at all. Ariel glanced down an isle or two, and found his slave standing there. He walked down the isle, grasping the leash in his fist. His knuckles turned white, almost, which was normal for the pale angel. He was normally quite forceful, despite often putting up a nice front. Acting was a speciality the angel had learned and perfected. He found it extremely handy for lying and manipulation.
Taking the slave back to the cart, Ariel requested him to tell him about himself. He worded it simply, "Tell me about yourself." Although the boy probably didn't have many likes or dislikes formed yet, or a very diverse personality, Ariel liked to know what he was dealing with. His red eyes glimmered with interest for the younger one. He was still pondering a name for the slave; shocked he had never been given a name. 'I suppose this auction place likes to dehumanized them as much as possible.' A good amount of his slaves had been given birth names by their mother, but some were taken away so early they either were never given one or never learned it. -
Elliot jumped when he felt a tug on his leash, and he whirled around to see the familiar red eyes of the angel. Relieved that it wasn't a stranger, he allowed himself to be pulled back to the cart, almost relaxed. He noted that Ariel's grasp on the leash was tight. The human assumed that he didn't trust Elliot to be allowed to roam freely for too long of a time. When the two reached the cart, the angel asked him to do a task of telling him all about himself.
The human put his hand on his chin, thinking. He didn't know what exactly to say. Usually, Elliot was very quiet, and shy. He only spoke to people he felt like he could trust. Despite their time in the store having been so little, he could feel himself starting to like him. He wasn't afraid of the angel. Not yet, anyway.
"Um.. Mm.. Well. I don't.. I don't have a name, but you already know that. At least, I don't have a first name. I had two friends at the auction house. Their names were Finley and Sherwood. I really liked them, and they said I could borrow their names. Sometimes I call myself a Finley kid, other times... Sherwood. But no one gave me my own name to call myself," Elliot decided he'd have to be open about everything with April. "When I was younger, I used to have a stuffed animal. I just called him Stuffie. He was my favorite and only toy. A doggy! It was small enough that I could hold him in my hands, but I still loved him. The auction men took him one day, though, because they said I was being a bad boy. They also dyed my hair as a prank. It used to be brown, I think." -
(I'm sorry I keep getting distracted by drawing)
Ariel chuckled a little as the human told him about himself. He nodded. He tugged at the leash once more, and then stuck two cold fingers underneath the cold collar. "I don't like this." The angel grumbled, frowning a little. He never really forced his slaves to wear a collar, except a shock collar. He supposed he could use a new one. "Pet section~" He hummed, starting off as if he was in a rush.
The tile of the supermarket was an ugly green, he thought, and the walls were such a glaring yellow. What an eyesore. However, the other angels hadn't lied to him. The supermarket had an incredible section, and was a huge store. Ariel did admire the selection, but what was the point if the store was so hard to look at? Presentation, to the angel, was everything. And that was quite clear, even for one whom had just met him.
