Bryce let out a silent sigh as the song came to an end, his eyes watching the card and people cross by his path of sight as he sat there waiting. "Shouldn't be too long." he said to himself. He knew his parents had went in search of someone, more than likely, around his own age. Whether they would find one or anything he did not know exactly. He didn't mind if they were younger, older, or anything. It would be someone, and someone he could look out for, in a way.

Larkin stood in the line. Normal procedure for every adoption, so the ones adopting can see all of the choices. Mrs Bannis eyed everyone of us, finally landing on me she flicked her eyes away, shaking her head. Larkin knew then, she's never going to escape this hell hole. Until she's 18. The couple walked into the room, time stood still. The wait of the Choosing is excruciating, the constant wonder if you are going to be chosen. To no longer be in this position. To have a family. The way their eyes examine every part of you, looking for the fatal flaws. This was different though. They appeared to have kinder eyes, less likely to judge. The couple walked down the line, finally landing on Larkin. The man's voice came out a softer voice than Larkin as expected: "How old are you?" Larkin internally gasped, as everyone else, no one spoke during this.
"F-F-Fifteen." she stuttered, but as quiet as a whisper. Somehow the man heard Larkin, he turned to his companion, hushed whispers, so low Larkin couldn't make out a single word. They turned back around to Mrs. Bannis and nodded. Mrs. Bannis gave me the look. And I knew, I was going to be adopted. -
Bryce slowly and slightly pushed open the car door on the side to which he was on, the breeze of air rushing pass him, relaxing him as he placed his feet out and on the grounds on the outside. Thoughts filling his mind about who it would be who came out. Will there be a bit or a girl? Would we get along? Doesn't matter..I'll do my best to try to protect them..maybe. Are they older or younger than I am currently? What are they like? Would anyone even come out with them? those and much more thoughts of the same coming through his head, curious to find out as fast as he could about them. Impatient as he waited, wishing they would come already.

Sorry, meant it to be she)
Larkin packed her belongings....14 years she resided in this place. Excitement grew within her, seeing other walls than the lonesome gray, seeing another sky. Seeing the world with knew eyes. Larkin slowly walked down the stairs, staring at the new adoptive parents. Larkin smiled, it felt foreign, odd, but in a good way. The man opened the door for Larkin. A fresh breeze from outside ruffled her hair in all sorts of angles. She quickly ran her fingers through. Larkin stared hesitantly outside. Was it worth it? Do I deserve this? The woman explained that they already had a child. Will I get along with them? Will it be a boy or a girl? Questions swirled through her mind as she walked out the door, with her new parents following behind. -
It's okay)
Bryce stared at the door, waiting for them to come out as soon as possible. Staring, time seemed to come still. Soon after a few moments he spotted someone come out, a smile coming to himself as he just stared at them. Time seeming to slow down as his eyes were fixated on them, watching how the wind blew their hair around. His eyes growing seemingly wide as he saw his parents coming out behind the girl he was staring at. "Is she the one..?" he asked himself, waiting to see if his parents and the girl Would all come to the same car, the one he was at. I wonder if so.. he said in his mind to himself. -
Also sorry for replying so late. Fell asleep.)
Larkin searched her surroundings for the car, immediately spotting it. Along with another person. A smile grew upon her face as she continued down the path, carefully stepping on the bricks, they aren't the most stable. Larkin quickly stopped. Contemplating if she should go through with this. All she ever wanted was this, to be adopted. But what if this couldn't work. She ended up being an unruly child in their eyes, and cast off to the side. Larkin shook her head and moved towards the car, turning around to see Mr. Hunter nodding. She turned backed, moving forward. -
It's okay, Jozlyn. Take your time.)
Bryce saw the girl there and his parents all bearded towards where he was. "Guess so..how will this go?" he asked himself. Qayxhing all of them closely, before coming and resting on he girl
She Seems to look maybe older than me? Or about the same, maybe. he thought to himself, studying the girl he was staring at. After a bit he stood out of the car a bit, leaning on the door, with it to his back as it was open, waving a hand slightly to her, keeping in silence for the time. -
Okaaaaay)
Larkin saw the boy waving at her. Instinctively she wanted to hide her face, but instead she gave a short wave. He looked slightly older than her, a year or two tops. She continued to study him as the distance between them decreased rapidly. She was curious on how the meeting would go. It would be awkward of course....but after Larkin couldn't quite decipher right at the moment. Finally she was precisely two feet away from the boy. She looked at him, and he was staring back. -
Also..night. I'm probably going to try to sleep. /hugs/)
Bryce watched as the girl approached where he was seemingly quickly, coming to a stop soon. He stared at her closely, looking straight into her Amber eyes as he smiled a bit to her. Keeping in silence for a short while before he spoke a word to her, still aeemibg to study her before him closely. "Hello." he said to her in the slightly deep voice in which belonged to him. Slightly nervous about what the girl Would be like, what would happen, how things would go and turn out. -
Your are? Otaaaayyy *hugs* Nighty night)
Larkin was surprised that he actually spoke, and the fact that his voice was like his father's. Kind. Soft. But still condoning a deeper side. It intrigued Larkin in the very least. "Hello." She trialed to say calmly, but instead came out in a squeak. Embarrassed she covered her face, before her cheeks gave it away that she was blushing. Larkin stood their awkwardly, holding her meager amount of clothes in an over sized red duffel in her right, covering her face with her left. -
I'm still awake though. I was going to, but now I'm not. You know?)
Bryce grinned slightly to the girl that stood before him as he heard her, coming back to a simple smile hinalwf quickly. Glancing down to the red bag she had in her hand before going back up to her, seeing her cover her face. A quiwtl chuckle escaping himself as he saw her. Knowing it was likely because of how she had spoke just then, he decided to nod his head. "Uhm...want me to get that for you?" he asked, motionibg over to the bag she was carrying. -
Oh I get it. If I don't reply for a while or something I most likely passed out)
The question caught Larkin off guard, and attempted to not fumbled over her words. "Uh...um...y-y-yeah I guess..." She walked closer to him and her sinuses filled with his scent. It was indescribable. She couldn't figure out the identity of it. It puzzled Larkin as she held out her bag. "Um thanks again..." she let the sentence trail off because clearly, every time she spoke. He tends to laugh. -
Okay there. Same here, either that or I'm working on another part to my story)
Bryce reached out with his hand after a bit as he gently retrieved the bag into his right hand from the girl. "Got it, miss..." he said, not knowing her name or anything as he kept his same smile on himself. The scent of her, seeming to be flown over towards him by the wind, relaxing himself. Smelling of..maybe coconuts or something he thought to himself enjoying it all. After a bit, holding out his left hand towards her to possibly shake hers. "I'm Bryce Lee Hunter." he said to her, waiting to see what she would do. -
Yeah.....cx)
Larkin stared down at his hands. Thinking....she wondered what to do. Of course she has shaken hands before. But not like this, still she decided to go with it. "Full name type of guy? I'm Larkin Ramsey." She grabbed his hand and shook. Feeling the calluses filling his hand as if he does construction or worked in fields. Although the roughness of his hands, they still felt soft. Like black and white mixing together to form this complex color that you can't quite but a name to. -
Mhmm...eh?)
Bryce laughed a bit at the first part she had said with a small nod to her a bit. "I guess it seems a bit appropriate and formal." he said with a shrug of his shoulders. "He liked the way her hand felt, it was soft to the touch and feel, to him anyway. "Well..It's nice to meet you, Larkin." he said to her After a bit. Soon, letting go of her hand as he dropped it back to his side. "Why did I ask to take the bag..? Were right here at the car." he asked himself shaking his head a bit as he gently leaned in and placed it in the middle of the backseat.
