A guy at the base of the army shouted "People of Camelot. For years we magic users have lived in solitude and been rejected to the outside world, but no longer. I am Purpolus, and I have created an army of magic users, bandits and other mercenaries. We are taking this kingdom by force and we will kill your king and prince."

Merlin frowned and she panicked mentally, "S-Sir?" She looked at him, "W-What do we do? T-They wont h-hurt other people probably." She said she closed her eyes for a moment, "Joseph... What do we do... They're magic users."

Joseph looked and said "I don't know. But the guards are trained for this, maybe they can take care of it." As a matter of fact the guards were flooding out of the castle to attack the army. Some manned the catapults.

"A-Are you sure, they are," Merlins gaze narrowed, "Magic users..." She said slowly, "This can't be good... We should get you back to the castle..." She said continuing on slowly.

Joseph said "But if they're after me and my dad that's the first place they'll look." The guards tried to hold back the army, but the army continued to advance. Purpolus' hands began to glow purple, then he threw purple fire at the castle's catapults.

"B-But you'll be safer there." Merlin insisted, she flinched at the flames.

Purpolus threw more purple fire until all the castles defenses were destroyed. Joseph said "Not anymore. I know somewhere else we can go. Follow me." Joseph grabbed Merlin's hand and rushed out of the tavern.

Merlin yelped and followed after him stumbling to keeping up with him.

Joseph and Merlin ran through town. Almost to and escape hatch, two mercenaries intercepted them. Joseph pulled out a knife and said "Stay back, I know how to use this." One of them swatted the knife and picked up Joseph. "This is the prince Purpolus wants." he said.

Merlin flinched away from them a bit, she watched them, "S-Stop, j-just leave!" Merlin said not looking at them. She shifted uncomfortably not liking what was going on at all.

One of the mercenaries turned to Merlin and said "Or what? What can a lowly made like you do?"

Merlin bit her lip, "A little rude don't you think!" She said her accent that she'd always worked so hard to hide came out strong in her words, "You never know who's around here so you might want to shut it." She said clenching her fists a bit.

Joseph said "Merlin if you value your life I think you should just go." The merc said "I'd listen if I were you." He just pushed Merlin aside.
