Molly crawled up onto the foot of the bed, then moved to the space beside the lamb. With a soft look in her eyes, she shook her head, smiling at him. "No, you didn't scare me. I knew you were strong enough to go through the pain. You might be a lamb, but your heart.. You're stronger than me in that aspect!" She leaned in to nuzzle his arm, wanting to snuggle with him under the covers but not knowing if it would be alright. "I was a little worried, but just a little."
-
"I don't think I'm that strong, not even at heart." He giggled and watched he little girl as she climbed into bed and moved towards him for nuzzling. He'd never expected to find wolf pups to be so undeniably cute. He reached up to pet her head, appreciating the small amount of warmth that came off of her. Basil couldn't help shifting to his side to hug her. "Little Molly's a little heater! I'm so cold without alpha.."
-
"You are, though! I mean, you're all better, right? And I didn't hear any crying or screaming. You were strong." She leaned over to put her hand over her heart, smiling at him. She was pleased that she had a friend, her very own friend. She giggled as he pet her head. "Wanna snuggle with me?" She scooted closer, pleased to be a heater.
-
"I'm not entirely better, but I'm all patched up. And again, I'm not that strong. I wanted to cry, Molly. It hurt sooo much." Basil smiled and nodded, lifting the covers to pull the girl against his chest. He was protective in the way that he held her, almost like a parent. He expected Cyrus would come back and call him a shewolf or a mother. But he didn't care right now. "Of course we can snuggle! You're like..a little sister to me. I'm glad to have such a good little friend and helper."
-
"Even if you wanted to cry, you are still very strong. And.. You lived through that awful, awful man. I'm happy about that." Molly laughed happily as she was pulled under the covers with the lamb. He was warm, too, and she snuggled happily into his hug. She liked snuggling with him almost as much as she liked snuggling with her mother and father. "Yay! You're the big brother, then. My favorite and only big brother."
-
"One day, I'll get that awful man back for what he did, and for what he intended to do. But I'm happy you're at least in one piece." The lamb rested his chin on her head, snuggling with her and sighing softly. He felt at ease, so much so that he actually started to drift a bit. "I'll be your big sheep brother. Ah, but if I fall asleep on you, I apologize. I'm pretty tired after today.."
-
"No, we'll get that awful man back! I was victim too, I deserve the right to help you get back at him. We can make him eat soap, or maybe, I can eat him." Molly gave him a determined look, balling her hand into a little fist. "I'm happy you're in one piece too!" She watched him get comfortable, and she realized he was relaxed. He probably wanted to sleep. Smiling, she relaxed too, closing her own eyes. "We can nap together. I'm sleepy, too."
-
"Alright, you can help me. And I dunno if he wuld taste all that great, Molly. Let alpha bite him first for a taste test." Basil was glad when the pup settled in to rest with him and smiled, nuzzling her head. "So now you wanna nap with me?" He giggled teasingly before relaxing again. "Thank you, Molly. For everything you've done to help me.." Despite how small she was, the small girl always seemed to rescue him in the worst times. And the lamb truly appreciated it.
-
"Yay! We can make him suffer together~! Oh, that's a good point.. But, still, free food!" The she-wolf threw her fist in the air, a sign of her determination. She let her hand fall back down beside her, smiling happily. Basil and Cyrus were her two best friends now. "Yes, now I want to nap with you. Big 'ole Cyrus can't take up too much space now that he's gone." She giggled with him, tucking her hand under her pillow. "You're welcome, Basil. I'll save you as much as I can.." Molly yawned, daydreaming about how she'd eat the mean man and save Basil forever.
-
Basil giggled and had to move to avoid being struck by Molly's small fist, playfully telling her to be careful not to hit him. "I dunno, I think yo'd fit perfectly in between us. You're small but mighty!" The lamb grinned and let his eyes fall shut, one hand reaching up to pet Molly's head. "My mini hero. Rest well." He cooed before starting to finally drift asleep. He wasn't sure when Cyrus would be back, but he wouldn't be surprised if the wolf was lying in bed with them later.
-
"Cyrus rolls around a lot in his sleep and kicks people. That's why he always sits away from the pack, since he would probably keep all of us awake with his squirming." She pouted a little as she thought about that, but she disregarded it as Basil pet her. She fell asleep after Basil did, a smile on her face.
Cyrus was back by the time Molly had woken up. He had almost blindly sat on Molly- causing her to wake up, and was now sitting at the foot of the bed, waiting for Basil to wake up. Their little fight hadn't seemed to have bothered the lamb at all. -
Basil hadn't agreed with Molly in terms of the way Cyrus slept, as he had never faced those problems with him when they lied together. But he hadn't been there for long, so maybe things would change and he'd experience that side of the wolf sooner or later. The lamb felt rested when he awoke soon after the pup, looking at the window to see that it was quite dark outside now. He shifted a bit, trying to stretch when his foot bumped something at the end of the bed. "Ah..S-Sorry, Cyrus.." He mumbled after looking up to see what he'd hit, even if it was only a light bump. Basil then looked at Molly and smiled. "I didn't trap you, did I..?"
-
Molly, who was pouting at the wolf, crossed her arms and shook her head sternly. "No, I got out of your cuddle easily.. But this guy..! He woke me up, Basil. He's so mean."
"I am not mean," Cyrus objected, throwing his hands up. "Basil, she was already out of your arms when I came. Now she's lying to you."
"It's not a lie, and Basil knows it. I'm the victim here."
"No, you aren't, I am!"
"Are not!"
The two started bickering back and forth, as if trying to compete for Basil's attention. After a while, though, Cyrus just shook his head, sighing. He looked tired. In his hand was a bottle of pills, as they had been since he arrived back at the inn. "Molly, I need to talk to him privately. Go to your family, please." It was his way of saying, You already had enough time him. Shoo. -
Basil's ears twitched at the bickering, feeling almost like a parent listening to his children argue over who did what first. Though, if Cyrus weren't himself, if he were just another pup, the lamb could easily be upset with both of them. But the alpha was being childish, simple as that. "How can you argue with a little girl so easily? Whether or not she was in my arms doesn't upset me. The fact that you're trying to fight with a pup does." Basil reached up to pet Molly's head while he tried to somewhat sit up without sitting on his tail. "I would love for you to stay and snuggle with me the rest of the night, but I think it's time to go back to your mama for a while, okay? If I feel better tomorrow, we can all go out and get some treats, since the bad man ruined our day." He promised before smiling at both of them. "And no more arguing with alpha. I don't want to get a headache or get sick from being stressed over little things."
-
Cyrus looked up at the lamb in disbelief, his ears twitching. He thought that the other would side with him, but he realized that of course he'd side with the younger one- she was more like the victim. He wiped his eye, blinking and looking at the bedspread. "She started it.. It's like a parent engaging an argument with their child. It's not that hard." Now, the wolf looked up, a glare in his eye. He would make Basil realize that he was more important- tonight, in fact. The doctor had mentioned the pain killers would help with any pain, not just the tail pain. The colder side of the alpha started to kick in. As Molly gave Basil a hug and left the room, he glared after her, daring her to come back in while he would be having his fun.
