(They're both babes)
Rhonen, even unconscious, could feel the pressure on his leg be released and a sigh escaped him, but he remained motionless besides his own breathing. He didn't know who was helping him, just that it was a woman, and she didn't quite smell the best herself. She had even gone as far as lifting him - with a struggle - onto her shoulders to carry him to what he hoped was safety. Not a werewolf, but a human, that much he would know once he was awake, and that she was the potential Hunter that had set the trap in the first place. But then he wondered, why was she helping him if that were the case? Then again, most of the wolves that got caught were usually in wolf form, any beast had to be confirmed one way or another before being distinguished. A human Hunter's rule number one. And he was glad for it at the moment.
The injured wolf let out a yelp and whimpered once he hit the wooden floor of the cabin, turning to lie on his unaffected leg. The pain was beginning to unsettle him, his forehead breaking into a sweat. This woman was not very gentle, and when he woke, he would have his two cents to say to her. -
Nevaeh muttered to herself as she went around the room, grabbing a clean shirt, a bottle of whiskey, and a small bowl of water. She propped the strange man's leg up, cleaning the wound the best she could. This was a delay, and it could prove to be a long one. When he woke, she would have to help him back to where ever he lived. Probably give him some money so that he could treat the leg, make sure it didn't get infected. Nevaeh could have left him, of course, other game hunters had traps in these woods. But she knew it was her trap that he had gotten snared in, and, being raised to be at least a little kind, she knew better.
After she treated him, she sat back, waiting silently for him to wake. -
Rhonen cringed and had a snarl across his face as his wound was cleaned with an awful smelling liquid. Something he knew humans drank at times from the lingering smell near the edge of the forest. He hadn't expected it to have another use for cleansing wounds though.
Once he was sure this woman was done 'washing' his calf, he slowly opened his eyes to look up at her. A bit of a scoff escaping him as he began to come to. "Not very gentle for a healer. You'd be replaced treating wounds like that." Rhonen should've been more polite, grateful, but the other's lack of care made that difficult for him. -
"I'm no healer," Nevaeh shot back, once she over came her surprise at him waking. She stood, and drew her bow, stringing at arrow. She pulled back, pointing it at him. It wasn't her werewolf arrows, but one of the three stone ones. She narrowed her eyes, stepping around him so that she blocked the door. "I'm a hunter. Now, tell me, please, what you were doing in the woods. And, where you live.. I'll help you get there, and give you a bit of coin so that you can see an actual doctor, since your faith in my treatment seems to be nonexistent." She waited for his repose, staring.
-
Rhonen narrowed his eyes at her, putting his hands up in defense. There wasn't much he could do on an injured leg, and although it was only stone, the arrow would still hurt like hell to pull out later. "If you're a Hunter, then why are you wasting your time in this forest? There's nothing here for you." Like hell he would sell out the location of his nest. "I was simply trying to get some water before your trap did a number on my calf. And I don't need your coin or your help getting home. All I need is a bit of rest, then I'll leave on my own."
-
(Sorry that I be slacking, I'm multitasking ;w;)
She scoffed, but lowered her bow, though she kept the arrow on it. "I don't hunt the normal game.. But I have see a number of rabbits through here. Anyways. I hunt werewolves. You know, the vile creatures that still children from their beds at night, and leave their bodies shredded on the ground for their parents to find. Those beasts. Those are what I hunt." Nevaeh realized that she had brought the memories up again, and shoved them down, quickly, standing. "I'm actually going to go out and find their hiding place, so I need to get you home. You can't stay here and heal, it'll take to long. And, every second I'm here, I loose a second of hunting time.." -
(That's okay. I do that all the time. x3)
The moment the Hunter spoke of werewolves, Rhonen snapped. "You don't know anything, do you? There's a reason I..don't live in the nearby kingdom. You're all so ignorant. Werewolves are similar, if not entirely the same, compared to wolves. Wolves are noble, compassionate creatures that don't attack humans unless they are ill or scared into a corner. You idiot of a woman. You won't find what you're looking for out here." The werewolf suppressed a growl as he sat up to pull himself over to the nearest wall, leaning against it. "And I will stay and rest if I want." -
"Werewolves are exactly like wolves, you're right. Dangerous, stupid animals, who kill everything with a pulse!" Nevaeh stomped to the door, throwing it open. "You wont rest here. You'll get out, now, or I'll drag you out. I don't have time to deal with this. I swear, I'll knock you out and leave you in the cold if you don't tell me where you live, so I can take you there." She was wasting time, and it made her nervous. Nevaeh twitched a bit, watching him. Slowly, her lips tipped with a grin. "You're so quick to defend them. Why's that? You got a lover on that side or something? People who mate with those- Those things, they're worse than the things themselves. You'll burn in hell if you do. Those things, though, they wont see hell, or anywhere else. They don't have souls."
-
"Wolves are beautiful, intelligent creature. They're much more benevolent than humans. You, living in your pompous little kingdom, are an ignorant young lady. You're nothing but a rabid mutt. All violence, no reason." Rhonen grit his teeth at her and rooted himself where he sat, refusing to move. His eye twitched in annoyance at the sight of her arrogant grin. "No lover. I've just experienced what it feels like to live away from your disgusting society. I've learned far more about nature and its children than you could ever know. Wolves are creatures to be worshipped and honored as guardians, just as they were years ago. And of course werewolves have souls. A lot of them were humans once, you know. If you do happen to find one though, please let me see once you've been bitten. I'll be sure to laugh at the irony."
-
"I would rather die than turn into one of those vial creatures. How would you know anything about the people of the kingdom if you haven't lived there? I would know about your kind. It's not ignorance, it's experience. Now," She lifted her arrow yet again, pointing it at him, "If you don't get up and leave, I'll gladly put this arrow through your skull. Then, I'll leave you outside, so that the werewolves you so willingly defend can eat your corpse. If anyone asks, I'll tell them that you refused to leave my cabin."
-
"You haven't experienced anything. And as much as I would love to get up, your trap was what crippled me in the first place, therefore it's your responsibility to ensure my health." He growled and opened his mouth to say more but was cut off by the distant sounds of howling. He didn't think any of his pack could turn so soon. He looked away from the arrow, staring off in confusion. "Could it be..." But the scent hit his nose, his own parents and some of the older warriors. Were they so strong they could change so soon after the New Moon. Not long after he heard the crunching leaves and rustling bushes, and Rhonen began to pull himself towards the door to see.
-
"My brother was one of those beasts-" Before Nevaeh could argue, she heard the howling. Without thinking, she switched to a silver arrow, moving to leave the cabin before realization struck her. He was, in fact, one. She slammed the door shut, bolted it, and shoved the small wooden bench against it, knowing good and well that it wouldn't hold. Nevaeh put the arrow away, and drew a silver-coated knife, moving quickly to pin the man and hold it to his neck. "Call them off. Or I'll kill you, I swear I will."
-
"No!" The plea slipped from his throat when the door was blocked and a gasp escaped him, feeling the knife at his throat. He felt his teeth grind together at the order the other gave him. "You're a load of dung. You'd just stick me once they were gone anyway. Besides, I don't make the orders, my father does. The only way you'll get them to back off is if you release me to him." He knew they wouldn't attack the Hunter, not unless she killed one of them first. "And if I do that, you leave us be to our lives. We're not what you think we are."
-
"No. You tell them to leave, or I'll kill you. If they leave, I'll let you go. Simple as that." Of course, it wasn't as simple as that. Nevaeh would follow them into the woods, and kill the rest of the pack. But, she wouldn't mention that now. She pressed the knife down a bit, hoping the burn of the silver against his skin would make him think quickly.
-
"I can't! They won't listen to me! You don't have to necessarily let me go, but I need to tell him face-to-face. They won't attack you, I swear it." Rhonen hissed at the burning he felt against his skin and reached up to lightly grab her wrist. He gradually began to relax, looking up at her without any threatening gesture. "Please...I just need to tell him, then they'll pull back.." He didn't trust her, not in the slightest, and knew all too well that she would try to follow them. Humans were so easy to read.
