The vampire kept his mouth firmly closed, no matter how tempting Imogen's blood was. He couldn't bite her and risk her being angry with him nor could he expose himself to the othe man in front of them. Humans had big mouths when they found out even the slightest bit of information. The daily news channels blew up with all the same stories just portrayed differently by each station depending on the audiences or biases. "We'll have to find a place to stay, darling. Any ideas?" He asked, looking up at her for an answer.
He placed his chin in his hand, leaning on the table in thought. "It's in late March I think. It's hard to remember when I haven't looked forward to it since I was in what was supposed to be my twenties. My brother might remember better than me, but I know it's in March." The brunette smiled at Isaac's optimism, knowing that the boy was just trying to help him. "Thank you. It probably won't taste as good as you, but if I drink too much from you, you'll get weak." -
"We should ask him on the way back," she told Seth, her tone false but pleasant. Of course, as soon as they got there, she wanted to be nowhere near the vampire. Separate rooms, for sure. Maybe she could figure out a way to leave without him? For now, though, she just had to act like she loved this. Like she loved him. Like she couldn't tell that he wanted to bite her that very moment. Imogen gulped nervously.
"Then I guess we can just celebrate for all of March, right?" he replied, heading out from the kitchen to the table. He paused, noticing something... off, on the counter. Usually, there were four sets of keys there. One for his parents' car, one with the keys to both of his parents' motorcycles, one for the hunting vehicle, and the set for his own car, an SUV. He expected the keys to the hunting car to be gone, since his parents were using it and had dropped him off in it before his solo trip. But... the keys to his car. They were gone. Nowhere to be seen. A few months back, the boy had promised his cousin, via email, that if she ever needed to find him, she could borrow the hunting vehicle or his car. For a moment, everything froze. Then, slowly, the world started to reanimate, allowing him to move with concealed panic.
"Yeah," he replied, sensing that Kayle had said something. "Hey... what would your brother do if... another hunter showed up?" he asked nervously, setting the plates on the table. -
"All right then." Seth hummed, feeling how tense she was from where he'd rested his chin. He sighed lightly, moving up to rest his chin on top of her head, a much safer place for both of them and it worked well with their height difference. As great of an actress as Imogen was being, if she was a walking tightened muscle, she'd eventually blow it for them if she wasn't relaxed. And the vampire wouldn't be tempted by her scent to bite. That would come later, at least he could hope for as much, the thought bringing a somewhat pleasant smile to his lips.
"Celebrating my birthday every day? That's insane. Are you going to give me a present with cake and ice cream every day, too?" Kayle giggled lightly at the idea of celebrating the whole month. But the mood quickly changed when Isaac seemed to be staring off a bit, well, staring into the table anyway. At keys. He didn't quite understand their significance but could easily sense the panic in the human's heartbeat. It was faster, if only slightly, than usual, and Kayle was unsure of what his brother would do. The worst possible came to mind, but he couldn't bare to tell the blonde that. "My brother... It depends. If they're involved with you, he'd probably keep them alive to find me.. Why do you ask?" -
"Thank you," she whispered, much more relaxed. She felt herself leaning ever so slightly into him, waiting patiently for the driver to finish his job. A few minutes later, he called them over. "I can fit both of you in. Come on," he said, eyeing Seth suspiciously. Imogen hoped he'd get in first. In a way, he seemed to be a little too into their acting. Oh well, she'd confront him about it later.
"Worst case scenario. Please. My experience of your brother is... very different from yours. He doesn't seem like he'd want to keep any human alive, from my perspective." Isaac stared at his plate, wondering how his cousin could be so stupid. Of course, she had to go after him. As soon as they both got out of this situation, he was going to make sure she got actual hunter training. That is, if she wasn't already... no. He looked up at Kayle, his expression pleading and filled with dread. -
(this is why parents shouldn't ask their kids to go to the store in the morning..)
"You're welcome." He murmured, watching and waiting to get moving. He narrowed his eyes at the man and pulled away from Imogen, still lightly holding her hand to lead her to the truck. Seth climbed in, helping his pretend girlfriend into the seat beside him.
"..I know he's cruel. That's why he would keep them alive. He would make them...suffer with you.. He probably noticed we were gone when he took them to the basement. You know how he is, he'd blame them and think it was all some plot against us." Kayle smiled softly and leaned in close to the other. His smile crept into a devious smirk. "But he doesn't know that I helped you out, he doesn't know how I feel about you. I adore you, Isaac. I'd do anything to keep him from harming you again." -
(because they'll get kidnapped and tortured by vampires, then eventually fall in love with one of the vampires as their relative goes after them and falls in love with the other vampire?)
"Thanks," she said as she got in after him. She closed the door of the truck and moved as close to it as possible, giving the vampire a little more room to move away from the driver. "You can bite him if you'd like," she murmured as she leaned up to give him a quick peck, once again so that the driver could see it.
Isaac couldn't help but lean it a bit as well, his hand slowly sneaking forward to eventually reach Kayle's cheek and cup it before pulling him into a kiss. The words had a dangerous, distracting lure to them, and he found it easy to end up completely lost within them. However, the thought of the other vampire harming his cousin pulled him from it. "I-I'm sorry," he muttered, leaning back a bit. "This hunter... isn't really a hunter. She's my cousin, and she wasn't raised with it, but she wants to be a part of it. I don't know why. Anyways, I don't think she'd let him take her down easily. She's a terrible hunter, but a natural fighter in... everything, really. She's probably already working on a plan...," he paused, his self-reassurance not working. He dropped his head into his hands, his words muffled. "I'm such an idiot." -
(No they make you forget to respond to things..)
Seth was thankful for the space, but the comment made him cringe and shake his head. Truthfully, he didn't like the way the man smelled, neither his blood or his body. He leaned over Imogen to roll down the window some then rested his head on her shoulder, closing his eyes as if going to sleep. "Wake me when we get there?"
Kayle let his eyes flutter shut in the kiss, whining when those lips were pulled away from his own. He didn't want to talk about his brother and Isaac's cousin anymore, but understood his worries. He moved from his seat to wrap the other in his arms, trying to rub a soothing hand over his back, although he worried that he was too cold to relax Isaac. "So your cousin's a girl.. I feel like Seth will be more lenient with her then. I don't know why, but he's always been more merciful with women, even hunters. Or in her case, wanna-be hunter. But if she's as confident as you say, she'll be fine." The small vampire gave the blonde's cheek a reassuring nuzzle, wanting all of his attention. -
(and then get kidnapped by vampires)
"Okay," she murmured, trying to hide her discomfort at having to face the man's conversation alone. She kissed the top of his head gently, again so that the driver could see, then looked out the window. Did it occur to Seth that maybe they were putting in a little too much effort?
Imogen realized that she'd have to keep it up as soon as the driver climbed into his seat and started the vehicle, looking over at the two of them with a small smile. "Ready to go?" he asked, not really giving them a choice. "So, how long have you two been together?"
"Oh, um... okay," he murmured, still a little distracted by the thought. Isaac eventually gave in, turning to kiss the vampire. He tried to push Imogen and the vampire out of his mind for a bit, telling himself that Kayle knew what he was talking about. His cousin could wait. Right now, he had to take the opportunity time had given him, and enjoy it to the fullest. Which meant trying to enjoy the cold of the other's lips, instead of expecting heat. -
(I guess..)
"Almost a year." Seth lied, peeking up at the man. As much as he wanted to sleep, he was always a light sleeper. Noise of any kind bothered him, even when people spoke softly. He wouldn't be able to sleep, so he might as well join the conversation. And he knew they were trying to hard to put on an act, but it seemed to be working. So long as the man believed they were a couple, he was fine with it.
"I think she'll be just fine." Kayle smiled softly into the kiss, firmly holding the blonde around his upper torso and lightly gripping his back. He didn't need to eat, and as much as he enjoyed bacon, he didn't really want to either. He just wanted to be close to Isaac, to be warm in his grasp. But he knew the other needed food, so no matter what the vampire wanted, it would likely have to wait. -
(thank you, kayle. always start your day off with a healthy breakfast, whether it leads to a productive day at work/school or plenty of smut)
"Our year anniversary is next month," she added, trying to sound as excited as someone who was very much in love would be. She was grateful for his contribution, even though he claimed he was going to sleep through the ride. Really, it seemed like the vampire was doing most of the acting. Part of her wondered if it was because he actually wanted... she ceased the self-flattery, knowing that it wasn't true. Still, her hand reached for his and squeezed it in silent thanks.
"Do you? I think you'd say anything if it made me act like this." Disregarding breakfast, he took his chance and scooped up the vampire, feeling his legs naturally press into Isaac's hips as they wrapped around his body. He carried the other back to his room, knowing that they should probably move out of the kitchen before anything escalated too far. He set him on the bed, then started kissing him again. -
(i'd prefer to fade out. if you want the smut [and i could use the practice] we can do it via facebook or email or something just not here)
She let out a mock whine, trying to make it sound like she was annoyed with him. "Don't talk about it, it should be a surprise. Though I still need to figure out what to do for you, too..." She glanced out the window for a bit, mostly trying to avoid having the driver in her vision in any way. Eventually she yawned as well, triggered by his. "You're always cold," she murmured before another yawn forced her mouth open.
He eventually left the other's lips, surprised but not annoyed at the gentle nip he received. His kisses trailed along the other's cheeks and down part of his jawbone, then slowly moved down to his neck. He paused for just a second, trying to make a decision. "This is payback for earlier," he whispered to Kayle, before pressing his lips on his skin, starting on a hickey in the same place as the bite the vampire had given him that morning. -
(fade out/time skips are fine
Not gonna make you do anything you don't want to)
"You'll get impatient. Surprises aren't your thing." Seth teased lightly, closing his eyes again while the truck rattled a bit over the road. The sooner they were away from the guy, the sooner they could stop acting. Although, he would like to stay close to her for her body heat, they weren't actually dating and neither of them would want to. He a blood-sucking corpse, and her a human flowing with the very life source he craved. Such a couple would never work regardless. "I know I'm cold. Keep me warm."
Kayle enjoyed all the sweet kisses, glad to know Isaac wasn't upset at his playful nibbling. But once those lips touched his throat, he frowned a bit. He had no problem with the blonde wanting to give him a dark too, but he was worried how it would look, if it showed up at all. He didn't have the same blood as humans. It was more like a venom to turn someone into a vampire. He clearly couldn't blush, so he didn't know what would happen. All the brunette knew was that Isaac's lips felt sooo nice on his throat. -
(I'd like to, if you're still comfortable with it. I need the practice. I just don't want to do it here.)
"Ugh, fine," she groaned, glad that it sounded like mock annoyance as soon as it left her lips. Imogen pressed against the vampire a little more, both of them leaning against each other in support. "As soon as we find somewhere to stay, I'm sleeping. Really, you should drive too." The driver looked surprised at the concept of Imogen driving, but she didn't notice, thanks to her companion's presence. After a few minutes, she remembered that Seth was probably really enjoying this. She reminded herself to tone down the acting.
Isaac eventually pulled away, seemingly content with his work. It didn't really look how he expected it to, but his intent was still obvious. He reached down to help the other shimmy out of his shirt. He could wait on the boxers, but bare chests were a must. -
(Well I've got Facebook, Skype, Kik, and multiple emails
The method is up to you)
Seth nodded lightly when she told him to drive. "I'm sorry I was too tired to drive you all over the place. Once we get the truck back, I'll drive while you rest." They honestly sounded like a couple going on a road trip or vacation. As weird as the idea sounded, it probably would be fun to go around the world just to travel. Any time he had to go anywhere, there was always a reason behind it, whether he and Kayle were running from someone or feel they were living somewhere for to longer than they should.
Kayle helped slip the clothing of, watching it be set aside. He stared up at his lover, a small smile gracing his lips as they seemed to grow closer. He wanted Isaac to himself for all of eternity, or at least as long as the other lived. As much as he wanted to share his blood with the boy and make him an immortal, he wouldn't do so without permission from the blonde first. -
(Any way you want it, that's the way we'll do it)
"I just meant that if we shared the driving..." She yawned again, her grip on his hand loosening slightly. Was their priority really faking a relationship, instead of saving their family? If there was anywhere she could bring it up without arguing, it would be here. "Think Isaac and Kayle are doing alright? Can't wait to see them."
Isaac and Kayle were doing perfectly fine. In fact, the human was nothing short of thrilled, if not a little anxious. He could feel his heart practically beating out of his chest, and figured that the vampire probably could hear it as well. He allowed himself, slowly, to grow closer in contact to his lover. Kayle's body was freezing, and it'd take some getting used to.
