Landon laughed softly, smiling widely now. He was excited to explore the ship, even if he couldn't see all of it. Even though he was told not to go to one of the lowest deck, he really wanted to see it. Landon nodded at the instructions, not really listening. He walked past Olan when he was finished, swinging open the door.
-
Olan watched him go, before returning to his food, silent.
The deck was still covered with sailors, going about their business. A few of the men looked Landon up and down, but Samuel barked at them to get back to work, and they did, leaving him alone. -
Landon practically skipped around the deck, looking over people and outer parts of the ship. When the sailors looked at him, he waved and smiled like a little kid. Landon explored the deck for a little bit before going below the deck, looking at everything he could see.
-
(I imagine trying to keep Landon from harm and him just being a little dip s--- and myself earning a eye twitch)
The second part of the ship was pretty much a storage unit. Chickens and small pigs sat in crates, waiting to be slaughtered. Barrels upon barrels of water and beer lined the wall, and, trunks of gold, money, and valuables sat below them, all wearing locks that only Samuel and Olan held the key to.
It also housed the brother's things that didn't fit in the cabin. A cracked open chest that contained dresses, and child-sized shirts that had belonged to the boys when they were younger. A black and white, aging, yellow picture of the Vey family also sat in the chest, along with a glass bottle containing a lock of hair and a single slip of paper, labeled, Alexander. -
(Landon is just like dumb. You can't save him xD)
Landon skipped around the second part of the skip, stopping every now and then to glance over stuff. He attempted to open trunks full of who knows what but failed to his dismay. He saw a cracked chest and rushed towards it, almost running straight into it in the process. He opened it a little more and shifted through some of the items, confused. Then he found a photograph of what looked to be an average family. Landon shut the chest when he found a glass bottle with a lock of hair. He knew he wasn't suppost to go any farther below, but he wanted to know, so he went down to the 3rd part of the ship. -
(I'm gonna shove him off the side of the ship I sweat to god)
The last part of the ship was pretty empty, other than a younger boy of about ten, who slept on the last bunk, pressed against the wall. He had a dagger in his hand, and though he had been sleeping soundly, he sat upright when Landon walked up, holding his weapon up until his eyes adjusted. Then, upon seeing Landon, asked, "You're him, aren't you? The men were talking 'bout you last night." -
(Do it
He can't swim xD I swear I would die laughing)
Landon eyed the dagger but grinned at the boy, waving. "I'm who? What did they say?" Landon knew he sounded like a little kid, but didn't really care. He was really curious. "And who are you?" Landon walked towards the bunk the boy was in, smiling. -
(Olan diving into save him and realizing a moment too late that he can't swim either
Samuel being so f---ing done with them both)
"That girly-lookin' boy Olan brought up." He narrowed his eyes, still holding the dagger. "That you're lucky not ta' have been caught alone yet." The boy didn't give him a name, and scooted back a bit farther, silent. -
(xDD
Samuel should just leaving without them smh)
Landon huffed at being called girly looking, staring down at the boy. "Lucky not to be caught alone yet?" Landon crossed his arms and glared defensively. "I can handle what happens to me just fine, if I do say so myself. Why won't you tell me who you are?" He stopped when his knee was brushing against the side of the bunk. -
(he's probably regretting all his choices.)
"..Avel Vey. Samuel's son. Not that he cares." There was a certain amount of venom in that, Avel making sure the new boy understood his hate for his father. -
(Probably)
"Oh. Your his son? That's..cute." Landon plopped down on the bed next to the kid without even asking. He would have thought that most kids loved their parents, even though he had not been around many families in the village. Landon guessed the boy didn't like his father judging by the way he spoke of being his son. -
(ZANNNNNE
Remind meeee)
Avel scooted to the wall, as far away from Landon as he could get. Keeping his eyes in slits, he asked, "Why're you down here?"
But, at that moment, the door opened, and a stream of pirates came in, five of them total. They eyed Avel, and then Landon, and one of them moved towards them, holding out a hand. "Gimme that dagger, little boy." -
(Sorryyy.
I just feel rude whenever I do.)
Landon tilted his head in confusion, wondering why the boy was trying to get away from him. He dosen't think I will hurt him, does he? He was about to open his mouth to answer the boy's question, but then five pirates walked in. Landon looked up at them, saying nothing as one of the men asked for the boy's dagger. -
(No baby
I'm very forgetful)
The boy, after a moment of consideration, flicked it at the man. Even if he managed to fight them, there were five, and it would be better if he just gave up. Moving to get up, he was snatched off the bed, and shoved down. It was clear that this had happened before- He didn't fight back, but only whined a little as his trousers were removed. The two that weren't focused on the boy turned their attention to Landon, looking him up and down. -
Landon watched the boy flick the knife at the man as if to start a brawl. Even though he knew this wasn't going to be good, Landon couldn't pry his eyes away from what was happening. When the young child was shoved down, Landon crawled off of the bed, getting up. Landon wanted to help the young boy, but only stared in horror as his trousers were taken off.
