In her daze, Ann was hardly able to tell if it was Charles or Landon. Holding about the same amount of hate for each, she mumbled a "yeah."
-
Landon slowly opened the door, peeking his head and inside before stepping into the bedroom. "Look, Ann. I'm sorry. You know I didn't mean it that way, love. You know Lily will get hurt if she tries to tell Charles that's not her name.." He moved and sat on the edge of the large bed.
-
Ann sneered at Landon and shook her head. "But you're not Charles, are you..? She knows that much, the girl isn't stupid. I'm Rose around Charles, and I was hoping that I was Ann everywhere else." She shook her head again and went back to staring at the wall.
-
Landon moved so he sat down next to her. "You are Ann everywhere else, Rose. I mean Ann. I'm sorry, okay? It's a habit. I just don't want you guys getting hurt. Speaking of girls getting hurt, where's Lily?"
-
Ann sighed and hung her head at his blunder. She frowned and didn't glance up. "In the bathroom, prepping for her session with Charles, if you know what I mean." She glanced down at her own sensitive area for effect. She hated lying to Landon, but that was what Katryna had wanted- no intruders.
-
Landon clicked his tounge, nodding slowly. "Okay, then. Are you okay..?" He wrapped one arm loosely around her waist, pulling her gently closer to Landon. "Because I really am sorry, love."
-
Ann kept herself stiff as can be, trying not to lash out at Landon. She was no longer happy with him and regret ever asking for his help, thinking that he only saw her the way Charles did. As Rose. "I'm fi- ...just go away.."
-
Landon sighed and removed his arm from his waist. He got up and started towards the door, shoving his hands in the pockets of his jeans. "Fine. Whatever." He left and went into the kitchen, looking for something to do.
-
Ann sighed and flopped back onto the bed. She rested for a minute before grabbing some paper and a pencil. There was to be no suicide note this time, only a story.
I've been staying here, kidnapped, for several days. At first my kidnapper seemed nice and gentle. But just like the "punishment" I was given last night, it's all just a facade. I've been given a new name and thus stripped of my previous identity.
Once she started, she couldn't stop. She stayed there for several hours, getting down every feeling, good and bad, that she felt towards Landon, Charles, and the cellar. -
Landon glanced at the time on the microwave. It was almost twelve, lunch time. He hummed softly as he took out bread and some ingredients, deciding to make sandwiches for lunch. He cooked the bacon and placed the meat on three slices of bread, a sandwitch for each of them. He finished them off with a tomato and some lettuce and another slice of bread. After he did that, he got some potato chips out of the cabinet and put a few on each plate. He got three glasses of water and carried the food and drinks on a tray towards the bedroom. Careful not to spill the food, he knocked on the door once again.
-
Ann was completely lost in thought when she heard the thump. Having lost track of time and not thinking to check it, she shoved the notebook and pencil under her pillow. "Come in" she called out, upset that someone had interrupted her.
-
Landon nudged open the door with his side, pushing it open as much as he could. He walked over to Ann, setting the tray down before her and sitting down beside the girl. "Is Lily still in the bathroom? I made lunch for all of us.." He glanced at Ann, biting his lip.
-
Ann raised her eyebrows a little at the food and made room on the nightstand for the drinks. She bit her lip and glanced at the clock, assuming the deed would be done by now. "Yeah.. I'll go get her, though.." Her legs were wobbly as she tried to stand up.
-
"Okay.." Landon sat the drinks down on the nightstand, humming as he did so. He leaned back, resting his hands behind his head as he waited for Ann to get Lily for lunch.
-
Ann tried not to think about the idea that she'd one day see Charles in that position, minus a few articles of clothing. She shook her head and hobbled towards the bathroom. She opened the door without knocking and raised her eyebrows at the sight before her. It was more elaborate than she anticipated. Katryna had carved herself, cutting "Charles" and the address into her left arm. On her right arm was "I love you, J." Undoubtedly a boyfriend. The amazing part was the blood. The girl had managed to paint the entire bathtub and shower walls with her blood. Phrases like "Rape is not love" "There is no peace" and "Freedom is life" slowly ran down the walls. The bathtub cork was in place, keeping the excess blood from draining. Ann took a breath and called for Landon, taking some of the extra blood and drawing a cross on the girl's bare chest.
