"Like father like son, isn't that what those Erudite nerds say?" He muttered, crossing his arms. "So your name's Rose. Hn. I like Ann better."
-
She couldn't help chuckle. She loved Divergent, and could make jokes all day long. She nodded and smiled up at him. "Same here. Oh, did you ever figure out my real name..?" She smirked a little
-
"Adrienne? Of course I did, darling~" He hummed, jumping over the back of couch and sat down on it. "I'm not just super badass, I'm also reallllly smart." He smirked.
-
She rolled her eyes and made a face, trying to hide a chuckle. "I see your ego is still way up there. If you're so fantastic, help me to the kitchen, I'm thirsty."
-
"Oh, thirsty, huh?" He chuckled and got up, walking around the couch and extending his hand to her.
-
She nodded. "Yeah, that's usually the reason people want water.." She took his hand and pulled herself up. She swayed on her feet a bit before stabilizing. She now had the opportunity to look Matthew over properly. "You grew." She commented, glancing around for a cup.
-
"Well, I sure didn't shrink." He mumbled, reaching over and grabbing a glass cup. He let go of her hand for a second and walked over to get her some water.
-
She shrugged "true.." She leaned against the table and watched as Matt got her drink. "Thanks.."
-
He was handing her the glass when the cellar door. Down came Landon, wearing only black skinny jeans, shirtless and barefoot. His dark hair was a mess on the top of his head, seeing as he had just woke up. Landon stopped at the bottom of the stairs, narrowing his eyes at Matthew. "Who let the thug in?"
-
Ann glanced up at Landon and drank about half the water before answering him. "Do I look capable of walking up stairs? Matt is your dad's latest 'prospect'." She twitched her nose and finished off the rest of the water. She tilted her head up at Matt and jerked her head toward the stairs. "That's Landon."
-
Matthew raised his eyebrows, chuckling. "Like I said. Like father, like son?" Landon reeled his head back. "Uhh? Excuse you? At least I know how to keep my pants up. Get a belt, man." Landon pursed his lips. "And don't y'all seem mighty close. Am I interrupting something, Ann?" Landon paused, walking towards the couch. "Or do you prefer Rose?"
-
Ann lifted her chin and glared at Landon. "At least he had the decency to call me by my real name, the one everyone knows I prefer. And he was getting me water, thank you very much." Her hands were shaking in anger and upsetness, and she was glad Landon was too far away to see
-
"Someone's in a b----y mood," Matthew mumbled, smirking at the younger boy. Landon shrugged, hopping over the back of the couch and laying down on it. "Guess I'll be the one laughing when he gets his ass whipped. Just sayin," Landon hummed, turning on the telly.
-
Ann gripped the table tightly in frustration and nodded. "Just like you." She suddenly couldn't breathe, and excused herself to the bedroom.
-
Landon rolled his eyes and turned on some movie, keeping his eyes on the screen. Matthew, on the other hand, got up and followed Ann.
