"I didn't want you to save me, really." She sighed, though, allowing all that anger to come back. "And, if I'm taking away from your job, I'll leave at the next dock. You wont have to worry, anymore. I'll be out of your hair." Suddenly, she wanted to break something, so the grabbed the bottle, hurling it at the wall, listening to the sound of breaking glass with happiness.
-
He scoffed and sprung out of bed, pinning her to the nearest wall by the arms. "You little s---. I cared about you, but now, I don't know. You thing it's cute playing this game, eh? Play it with another man then." That rush came again.
-
"It's not a game, Philip!" She broke, sobbing, more or less from her head hitting the wall. "I carried a dead child inside me for three weeks! Your son! Do you.. Do you know how much that killed me? No. No, because you get to drink it away, and pretend that it never happened."
-
"To be honest, I didn't know exactly how I felt, but I wasn't happy, and I don't drink as much as you think. You know, maybe you're not that fertile. Maybe we can't have a child. Did ask ask the doctor about that?" He could have slapped her for getting in his nerves even though he was still drunk. "I know it killed you, Janette. I was with you, but you pushed me away."
-
"Honestly, Philip, at the time, I was thinking about having lost my baby. No, I didn't ask that. And, you're being an ass!" She tried to pull her wrists away, disliking the smell of his breath. "No. You don't know anything. You weren't there. You didn't care."
-
"Because you were so wrapped up in yourself! You also didn't realize we could have had another baby! Maybe we weren't meant to have one yet." He sighed and loosened his grip on her.
-
Janette stopped for a moment, and then grabbed the front of his shirt, pulling him to her, sobbing into the cotton. She tried to say something like an apology, but it didn't come out as anything but a sob.
-
He held her, wrapping his arms around her body. "I shouldn't have done this to you. You should've been with what's-his-name?" He almost wanted to cry, but he would hold it together.
-
She just shook her head, and pressed closer to him, taking a few minutes to calm down. Then, she sat up on her toes, kissing him. "I want to.. To try again. Okay? Can we?"
-
He took in an unsteady breath. "Tomorrow, Janette. I promise as long as nothing comes up." He whispered, and returned the kiss.
-
"Tomorrow, then," She agreed, moving away from him. "I.. I'll clean up the glass. Oh, and, by the way, that stuff is gross."
-
"Jan, you don't have to. I'll pick it up, you can just go have some free time. And I happen to have grown accustom to that brand." He chuckled, opening the door.
-
"I broke it. I'll clean it, you.. You brat," She mumbled, for lack of a better word. "Go sail your ship. I think I'm going to sleep after I get it picked up.
-
Philip rolled his eyes and chuckled. "The broom and dustpan are in the kitchen. And I am not a 'brat'." He said, defensively. He left the cabin to check up on Eric at the wheel.
-
Janette rolled her eyes at his back, but went to grab the cleaning supplies, making short work of fixing it up. However, her hand got cut on a piece of glass, and she had to grab one of Philip's older shirts, and wrap it around the bleeding cut. It was an old one, with holes it it, so she didn't think he would mind.
