(So like.
Miscarriage.)
Janette set to filling the bath half way, dropping the towel, and stepping in, sighing at the soothing warmth. -
(Yas .o. And then they'll be all "Let's just f--- again!")
Philip dropped his towel and grabbed a handful of water. "Is there any room for me?" He asked eyeing her. -
(yus
Time skip to a few months later, then, so she can have already lost it?)
She nodded, scooting forward to allow him in behind her. -
(K den 9 months later...)
Philip held her, arms wrapped around her softly sobbing body. "Janette, I'm sorry. I know you- we were really looking forward to this." He whispered. He was glad that they were in his room, so that nobody would bother them. -
Janette swallowed down a sob, leaning gently against Philip, trying to calm herself down. It had already been a week, but she still found herself crying each day. And, each day, Philip would end up holding her, and telling her it would be okay, and that they could always try again. However much he said all of that, it still hurt Janette, and she found herself slipping into depression, as the doctor Philip had brought aboard the ship had said when she began refusing to eat.
This time, though, she found herself pulling away from Phillip, heading over to the bed that she spent most of her time on, burrowing under the covers. -
He let her go out of his grasp, and looked down, now in thought. He pulled off his shoes and went under the covers with her. "Janette, look at me."
-
She ignored him, studying the cracks in the wall intensely. Her eyes stung, and she blinked, not at all surprised by the stray tear that dropped onto the pillow below her head.
-
"Janette, I can't have you like this all the time. You need to eat, talk to me, something. It doesn't just hurt you right now, I'm hurt as well just from seeing you this way. The crew is even worried."
-
Janette mumbled some kind of response, though it wasn't even a word, rather just a noise to let him know that she had heard him. The young girl pressed closer to the wall, trailing her fingertips along the age-worried wood, that, she was sure, was still as beautiful as it had been when the ship was first built. Maybe more so, with the wear and tear of experience.
-
He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her against his body, enjoying the warmth that came. "Janette, please." He whispered in her hair. "At least come an have a snack with me. Maybe some bread and apple slices?"
-
It took a lot for her to resist the urge to pull away, but she didn't, and somehow managed to force herself to settle against him. "I.. I'm not very hungry, Philip. Maybe later, alright?"
-
He sighed closing his eyes. "Hmm, okay then. I'll be back later. I have some paper work to do, and things to discuss with the men." He said before slipping out from under the covers.
-
"Can I.." Her voice trailed off for a moment, and she rolled onto her side, staring up at him. "Can I go on deck? I wont cause any trouble."
-
He gathered some frail papers and tapped them to the table to straighten them before responding. "Mm, I suppose. Be careful though." He warned.
-
"I will," She muttered, getting out of bed. She was wearing one of Philip's shirts, one of the ones that fell to her knees, covering her underwear. She didn't even put shoes on before exiting the cabin, blinking in the bright of the sun.
