New York, San Fransisco, Chicago, hell it can be San Frantokyo for all I care. xD Whatever works girl.
After a while, Shay found the silence a bit boring, so she decided to break it. "You know," she started, tapping on the glass of silence. "I've always loved the city. The colors, the sounds, the different types of music to hear... It's one of the reasons why I moved here. It's like an escape from stress sometimes." Shay looked over to Griffin only to notice that he was looking at his shoes instead of the wonderful lit up beauty around him. -
New York then
But sanfrantokyo xD holy s---
Griffin raised his head for only a moment, offering a weak smile before dropping it back down. He didn't feel like talking, but so as to not hurt her feelings, he decided to reply. "It makes for a good reference when it comes to painting, I guess." He didn't know why he said, because he only ever painted the horrible parts of the city, such as the steely grey cracks and the wilting weeds. -
kk
xD Big Hero Six; best kids movie ever.
"You paint?" Shay questioned, just a bit surprised. She had tried painting and drawing before, but she had failed horribly at that. Instead she stuck to singing and playing her guitar. She was also glad that the boy had decided to answer her, even if the smile that he had given her was a pained smile. -
i wanna see it so bad ;-;
"Yeah, I paint." He shrugged, leaning against the window. "I did a few competitions but I stopped when the amount of people started getting to me." He sighed, recalling the amount of awards he had won and how simply art came to him. He had opportunities to compete more, but there wasn't a chance that he would willingly step into a show anymore. All of his courage and self-esteem had gone down the toilet in the last three years, so he couldn't. -
why can't chu D:
"You sound like you draw pretty good then," Shay stated while returning her gaze back out the window. "I wish I had a talent like that. I just try and stick to singing and playing my guitar." At that moment Shay then got a song stuck in her head and she couldn't help but tap her foot to the beat of the music within her own mind. She cleared her throat, and she almost started singing, but she stopped herself when she noticed what the hell she was doing. -
broke as a joke and it's not on dvd yet
"I guess. Singing is a talent, too," he assured her. He ran a hand through his already-messy locks of chocolate brown, then crossing his arms over his chest. He just wanted to get home, at that point, feeling nothing but sick and apologetic. I'm an a--hole. Why did I drag her into my problems? She's got enough on her plate. I'm a jerk. He sniffled with a fit of upset, shaking his head. -
I would lend you some money, but we live like 1500 miles away from each other D:
Shay laughed a little and shook her head. "Anyone can sing. Not everyone can paint," she stated as some jackass almost hit the taxi with his car, honking as he did so. She looked at the guy who almost hit them and she felt like flipping him off, but he knew that they wouldn't be able to see her, so she kept her fingers out of the air. "Maybe sometime you can show me some of your paintings?" she questioned. -
That sucks yah
"Not true. I can't sing for my life." He frowned, a bit upset that she wasn't very confident in her ability. "Maybe sometime, if you want." He honestly didn't want to, because a majority of his paintings were depressing and dark and he hated showing them to others. Even if he did show her, he'd be too embarrassed to take much credit. -
*gets airplane tickets go fly to your place*
Wait, you live in New York, right?
I know you live way east
Shay smiled as an idea popped into her mind. "Yeah, and then maybe I could sing for you too, if you want me to," she said, her smile turning back at Griffin. "What music do you like? Maybe I can practice so I wont sound too horribly bad and it'll be music that you like." Deep inside Shay was worried all that she was trying to do for Grffin wasn't going to be enough to save him... -
I live in New Jersey. mmmm so close
Griffin sighed heavily, hugging himself tightly. He imagined that she wouldn't be very interested in his type of music. "I like eighties metal. I don't think you would be able to sing that, but thank you for the gesture. You're nice." He grinned slightly, which was only half-meant, but he was trying. -
Knew it
"No, I can try," Shay assured Griffin, glad that she was at least able to make him smile. She pulled out her phone from her pocket and she checked to see what time it was. 8:55. She had to get home soon if she wanted to get all her homework done for her classes tomorrow. Though she was worried, there was no sign of it on her face and she put her phone back in her pocket. -
Yes.
Griffin eventually noticed familiar surroundings, and he was positive that he was almost home. He held his breath, watching as the taxi turned into his apartment complex, heading towards the back, where the apartment he lived in was located. A sense of relief washed over him, as he had only been waiting for this moment. He secretly hoped that his father was home, because he needed some type of comfort, even if his parent wasn't so willing to give him what he needed. -
xD
Question: what is your profile picture of. I know it's a horse but what is it off of?
"That'll be twenty-six, ninety-five," the cab driver said. Shay handed him the money and then she looked to Griffin. "Do you have a phone?" she questioned. She wanted to make sure that she was in some sort of contact with this boy just in case he really needed help but he had no way to get to her. "Or any access to a phone?" she added. -
It's from Amazing Horse.
"No, I don't," he lied. He did, in fact, own a celluar device, but he never used it unless he was talking to his father. He also wasn't comfortable giving his number to people so easily, the reason he only had about twenty contacts. They weren't even really friends, either. It was mainly professors and specialists that he had never bothered to get back to, even when he said he would. He put his hand over the door handle, prepared to leave. -
Hmm, never heard of it.
"Here, wait a second," Shay said while digging through her bag and pulling out a piece of paper and a pen. She quickly wrote down her name and number on the paper and she held it out for Griffin to take. "In case you need me and you find a phone to use," she said, pushing the note closer to the boy ready to leave the cab.
