That's okay
He was three minutes into his walk when he heard his ringtone exploding into the air. He sighed, fishing around his pocket and pulling his celluar device from it. He saw the familiar name and answered the call, placing the phone to his ear. In a raspy voice from all of the emotions he had bee experiencing, he spoke, "Hello? What's up?" He swallowed heavily and proceeded to wait for a response like he always did. -
"Hey Griffin," Shay stated in an apologetic voice. "Sorry for so many calls today, I was just wondering if you would like to catch lunch with me today? We can meet up where ever and just bring a lunch if you want, but if you don't then that's okay too."
Shay then waited for Griffin to answer. She felt like such a great bother to Griffin but she hoped that she wasn't. -
"I was just about to go to Harold Hewitt's Memorial Park like always do. Are you anywhere near there if you know where it is?" He questioned, all for the idea of having lunch. He may have felt slightly uncomfortable with the idea of breaking routine, but he was alright otherwise. He then said, "Unless you can't get here, then I can come to you?" This was a very serious offer.

fffffuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkk
sorry.
He couldn't see it, but a smile broke out on Shays face at Griffin's words. She nodded her head, then realized how stupid that was since she was on the phone, so instead she spoke, "No, I can get a taxi and I'll be there real soon. Where at in the park do you want me to meet you at?"
Shay was really glad Griffin decided to have lunch with her. She hoped that maybe it would help him a little with his problems, and inside she prayed that it would help him. That was her goal after all. -
It's okay
"Uhh.." He hesitated, because where he went in the park was his own little safe haven that almost no one knew about. He chose to tell her, "There's a picnic right near the lake, and it's sort of hidden by a gigantic oak tree. To get to it, take the little dirt trail by the visitor's office, and go all the way down. Take a right near the patch of violets that you see. I'll text the directios to you so that you remember." He didn't allow her to say another word, hanging up the phone and shooting the text directly afterwards. -
lelelele
"Okay thanks," Shay said, but he had already hung up on her, and a text message went off. She looked down at her phone to see that Griffin had texted her the directions. A sigh escaped her mouth as she quickly made a sandwich, got a bottle of water, put that in her bag, and then she quickly headed out of the dorms and outside the university.
She called a taxi and then got in, telling the driver where she needed to go and she was on her way to the park. The world was zooming by through the window and she sighed again as she looked down at her phone, going over the directions over and over again. -
lel fur days
Griffin passed through the entrance of the park, heading directly towards the trail, when, suddenly, a voice yelled his name. Startled, his heels did a one-eighty, and there he saw a group of boys that seemed familiar. He swallowed heavily, tilting his head. One of the boys in the group jogged towards Griffin. He had blonde, somewhat wavy hair and deep green eyes. He gave a half grin, "Griffin, man? It's been so long. I haven't seen you since sophomore year. You don't look any different." He was unsure who the person was until that moment. "Derrick," he whispered, staring at him warily. Derrick was never a bad person, but he always gave off a vibe that caused anxiety to shoot through Griffin's body, -
xD
Soon enough Shay got to the park and she paid the taxi driver and then got out and headed through the entrance of the park. She instantly saw Griffin, but there were many other boys with him, a group of them in fact. They all seemed to be about his age, but Griffin didn't seem to happy to see them. Maybe they were bullies? Maybe they were hurting him? Slowly, Shay made her way to the group and she tried to hear their conversation to see if they were doing anything mean to Griffin. If they were, then she'd chew their asses out for it. Sure she couldn't really defend herself or physically hurt them, but she would say a few choice words at them if she needed to. -
yus
Slowly, but surely, all of Griffin's memories from sophomore year of high school were flooding his mind. Derrick was also the one who saved him from the dangerous group of kids that loved screwing with him. Maybe that's why Griffin got that vibe, because he had seen just how tough and rough the boy could be. "Derrick!" he said more enthusiastically, grinning from ear to ear. "Nice to see you again!" Derrick laughed and gave him a quick hug. "Listen, dude, get my FaceBook. We need to catch up. It's been a while. Damn, man. Listen, I'll see you soon, dude." He pat Griffin's shoulder and went off with the group. The dark-haired male smiled at his shoes and turned, finally starting to walk through the trail. -
TURN DOWN FOR WHAT?
f--- that's stuck in my head and I want it out out out
The sudden change in how Griffin acted really surprised Shay, but she didn't say anything about it. Instead she jogged to catch up with Griffin and a smile crossed her face. "Hey Griffin," she said catching up with him and walking by his side. She looked over at him and waited for a response to see if he'd be happy, or irritated to see her. So she walked with him and waited for a response from him. -
Oh no stop that song is ugh
Griffin let out a scream because he hadn't been expecting anybody to sneak up on him. He paused in his tracks, glancing at Shay and giving a sigh of relief. He leveled his breathing to calm himself. "I am so, so sorry. That was just terrifying." His cheeks reddened at his embarrassment. -
IKR????
*turns on bvb instead* ah that's better.
At Griffin screaming, Shay let out a scream too and just threw her back at random. "Oh my god," she said. "No I'm sorry for scaring you." Shay's face also reddened and she covered her face with her hands as she laughed. Her blonde hair was a bit of a mess from jumping and throwing things, but it wasn't too bad. "Well this was a nice way to meet up, huh?" she joked through a laugh while picking up her bag from the ground and dusting it off a little, though there was no dirt to dust off of it. -
:p
"Indeed," he said, jokingly only partially. He saw the violets, and took a right like he had told her in the message. Eventually, he knew they would come to a fantastic opening that was buzzing with nature and was welcoming. He had always adored the place, and was perfectly okay with going there whenever he possibly could. He had countless paintings of the spot the he kept especially hidden. They were his best works, and he did not want anybody to see them, as they were his and only his. -
I am Groot
"So, who was that boy you were talking with earlier?" Shay questioned while trying to run her fingers through her hair, which she was kind of failing at. "Fine be difficult then," she muttered to herself while throwing her hair over her shoulder. She cleared her throat, trying to pretend that she didn't talk to herself and she looked back over at Griffin. Though her hair seemed like a mess to her, Shay's hair actually looked really good, and her green eyes really stood out as she looked over at Griffin. -
hi groot
"A boy from high school," he said simply and quickly, heading towards the picnic table that he spotted sortly after making the previously mentioned turn. He smelled the fresh aroma of the flowers and water and automatically felt a hundred times more relaxed. He then noticed how pretty Shay looked at that moment, and this made him feel somewhat insecure, because, in all honesty, he really didn't look like he cared about his appearance. This was only the truth, however, because he couldn't ever find the strength or motivation to put a comb to it, even after a shower. He heaved a breath and nodded.
