(It's fine.)
When he woke again, it was well into the morning, probably about nine of ten. Sunlight filtered through the window, and Maurice could hear people walking about on deck. Slowly, so not to wake Edward, he slipped out of bed. After digging through some drawers, he found some clothes that fit him pretty well, and put them on. He then left the cabin, returning to his favorite spot beside the railing. Just half a day away was a shore, and by the looks of it, a big city. -
Edward woke shortly after, surprised that Maurice had risen earlier than himself. Slipping out of the bed, he snatched his hat from the table and positioned it atop his head, pushing open the door to the cabin. He headed straight for his first mate. A strong, reliable man, who would be more than capable of taking over his position once he and Maurice found a place to settle. He quickly explained the situation, and was pleased when the man accepted. After that was over, the captain settled himself beside Maurice. "Morning."
-
"Morning," He sighed out, moving his eyes from the rolling waters below him, to the captain's face. He smiled a bit, leaning forward, and then, catching himself, pulling away. The man probably wouldn't be so happy if he openly displayed his affection in front of the whole crew. So, instead, he put his attention back onto the shore, that was quickly approaching. "If I'm right, that's the island I came from. My mother.. I could visit my mother."
-
Edward nodded, surprised at what a coincidence it was that they happened to be docking at Maurice's mother's island. "Would you like to stay there then? Get a house?" He asked. Knowing that Maurice might answer yes, he had ordered the crew to actually pay for their supplies on this trip.
-
"It would be nice," He admitted, nodding. "Yeah. It's a good of a place as any, really." In all reality, it was unlikely that his mother was still alive- And if she was, she was probably an ancient old women who wouldn't, by any means, approve of his new lover.
-
Edward nodded and smiled softly, though he directed his gaze out at the ocean to hide it. The island grew larger and larger, and soon enough the large ship had pulled into the harbor. Edward barked an order to one of the crew members, who tossed him two bags. The captain held one out to Maurice. "Money, food, and a few other things." He explained with a slight nod. "To get us started."
-
Maurice took the bag without saying anything, nodding. He then, though he knew he shouldn't have, leaned forward and kissed Edward- Just on the cheek, a quick, little peck- And muttered a soft thank you before brushing past him, to where a plank was being lowered to the dock.
-
Edward blushed lightly, taking a moment to comprehend what Maurice had done. A few of the sailors chuckled and winked between each other as the slightly-red-faced captain followed his "secret" lover off of the ship.
-
The blonde pushed his hair over his shoulder, so that it at least covered some of the marks left on his neck from the night before. He rushed off the ship, happy to be on solid land, happy enough that he thought about kissing the boards beneath his feet- No.
-
Edward followed closely behind, chuckling to himself at Maurice's obvious excitement at being back on solid land. Glancing around what he could see of the island, it looked nice enough. A few houses and shops scattered around, and an enormous harbor, which pleased Edward, who had feared by choosing to live on land with Maurice that he would be abandoning the sea.
-
"We should try to find my brothers, first," He told him, not wanting to ask anyone about his mother. The women was a well-known widow, but he didn't want anyone to tell him she was dead, not someone he didn't know, anyways.
-
Edward nodded. "Alright. Any idea of where they might be living?" He asked. The captain doubted his brothers would approve of their relationship, so he was prepared to play Maurice's friend if it was nessecary. A few of his crew members passed by, heading for the shops.
-
"He. All are dead except for Cade. And he.. His girlfriend is the baker's daughter. We might as well check there first." He slung his bag over his back, and headed off the boardwalk, and onto actual land, letting out a happy sigh. From there, he weaved his way through crowds, coming to a small, cozy-looking building, with smoke trickling out the chimney. Maurice knocked on the door twice, and a women with an ankle-length bright red braid opened the door, and stared at him for a moment, before hugging him tightly. Maurice laughed, returning the affection. "Anne. Cade home?"

Edward stood a few paces behind Maurice, a little unsure of how to act. It had been a long time since he'd actually been around people besides his crew members, without trying to steal something from them.he decided it would be best to keep quiet for now, Maurice would probably introduce him.
