C1 and his husband were married- Illegally, of course, since in their village, same-sex marriage was heavily frowned upon. Still, they married in secret, and lived together for a full five years.
And then everything was ruined.
Living on the coast had always been dangerous. However, the people thought they were well guarded against the many pirates that roamed the sea, pillaging towns, stealing livestock and women, killing men. They never dreamed it could happen to them, but it did.
C2 is the first mate of a well-known pirate ship. He's good with a sword, and quick to kill without question or guilt. When his ship docks at the shores of a small village, he has no problem killing whole families. When he reaches C1's house, he kills his husband, and then, mistaking C1 for a pants-wearing, flat-chested girl, kidnaps him.

Personality: Despite his girly looks and voice, Maurice isn't one to be mistaken for what he refers to as "the weaker gender." He's a hard-working man, with very odd habits. He's kind to most, easy to like, and very, very smart.

Maurice hadn't planned anything for the day, so when he rose in the morning, he sat to making his husband breakfast, storing some of it in an ice box for him to take to the lumber mill with him, for lunch. He hummed as he moved around the large kitchen, something he had insisted was a necessity for the house he and his husband were to live in.
The sun rose just as he was finishing laying the table with food. He moved down the hall, peeking into the bedroom, where his lover slept. He pursed his lips, brushing his hair away from his shoulders. "David, love. Breakfast," He didn't bother moving from the doorway. His love was a light sleeper, and woke at the words alone, sitting up sleepily. His pepper-and-salt hair contrasted against the green-gold of his eyes. David was, to put it simply, beautiful. Inside and out, Maurice knew. He loved him more than air.
A smile crept onto the blond's face as he floated back to the kitchen, waiting for David before sitting down. -
"Land ho!" The call was shouted down from the bird's best perch. "A fair-sized village, Captian." Edward nodded, grinning at his crew. He shouted some orders, and the large shop turned towards the shore. He adjusted his hat and let out a slight laugh, drawing his sword. Clear seas, and newly repaired ship, and now another village for him to purge and plunder with his crew. The day was off to a good start.
