Edward sighed. "Well, you must be hungry, hm? As much as I despise a woman who refuses to service me, I can't have you starving." He grabbed pair of apples from a bowl on the table and tossed one to Maurice. "You shouldn't be so scared though, you haven't anything that scarring yet." He mused, noticed the somewhat trapped and frightened look on his prisoner's face. -
(
It has color later on x33)
"I don't want your food," He said, rolling the apple away from himself. I truth, he was hungry, but he wasn't going to accept anything from the murderer. The blond did, however, move the blankets of the bed so that he could burrow under them, tucking a pillow under his bed. He was hungry, and tired, but he didn't want to eat, or sleep. He wouldn't be letting his guard down around the pirate. -
Thank yooo x3)
Edward chuckled. "I've met your type before. You can't stay awake forever, and you can't go forever without food. So I suggest you take what I offer you, unless you'd prefer to be tossed to my crew. They're quicker to undress a lady than I am." He warned, jabbing a finger out and poking the lump under the blankets that was Maurice. -
(uuu)
"I'm not hungry," He lied, moving away from the finger. He didn't enjoy the threat, so he ignored it, deciding that Edward was bluffing. He curled into a ball, with his knees to his chest, closing one eye. He was exhausted.. "I can sleep though, right?" He was sure he wouldn't actually sleep, but only rest. Hopefully, though, the man would leave him alone for a bit. -
Edward hesitated, but then nodded. "Of course. Maybe I can have some more fun with you when you've got more energy, so go ahead and sleep." He told him. Though in truth, Edward didn't plan on doing anything. He had decided on male for the time being, and he was fairly sure things would be rather awkward if he really did have to check Maurice's more "vulgar" parts.
-
"Thank you," He mumbled, closing his eyes. He had lied to himself, because, in a matter of minutes, Maurice was asleep. It was one of those deep, dreamless sleeps, that lasted for hours on end. When he woke, he found that it was completely dark in the cabin, but he was still dressed, and unharmed. He couldn't tell where he was for a moment, but everything came back to him- Much too quickly. The blood on his hand had dried, and Maurice choked back a sob, feeling a pang of misery in his heart.
-
The Captain's eyes were just drifting shut, his head resting in his hands, but they snapped open again at the sound of the sob. He glanced up from his perch in the wooden chair, seeing the blankets shift slightly. "Was that man really so important to you?" He asked. "What did he do to make you care so much?" In truth, the captain was a bit curious. He'd never really been in love, in his eyes love was weakness. However, couples always captivated him. He just couldn't understand how someone could be willing to die to protect someone else.
-
Maurice glared at him, and for a long while, the blonde said nothing. When he answered, though, it was like the words fell out of his mouth before he could stop them. "David, he.. He saved me. My father.. My father beat me, and David took me away from there, and kept me safe, and he was just so.. So wonderfully kind, and he never made me do anything I didn't want to, and he.. He actually cared, and now he's dead, and-" He broke off with another sob, hating himself for telling the pirate, hating the pirate for ending the happiness in his life.

omg that comic is my new purpose in life it's so cuuuuuute ^u^)
Edward listened quietly. He opened his mouth, about to say something, but then decided against it. It would only make him seem weak, and besides that he had been the one to murder the man. His condolences would be meaningless. Finally, he gave a little sigh and spoke. "Well...you may as well get over it. There's nothing you can do about it." -
(^-^ Told yoooou~)
"I can kill you," He mumbled, and then winced, having not meant to speak out loud. His eyes traveled slowly up to the man, hoping faintly that he hadn't heard him, which was doubtful. In truth, the only reason he hadn't admitted his gender yet was because he wanted to avenge his lover. -
It's just so cuuuuuute X3)
"Kill me?" Edward scoffed, not sure he'd heard right. "Not to burst your bubble, but...how exactly to you plan on killing me? I'm trained and armed, and I get the notion that you're neither." He added, sounding almost apologetic. His eyes met Maurice's innocent and heartbroken ones, peering back at him from the bed. -
"I can if I wanted to. You'd be surprised. I'm very handy with a knife." He wasn't joking, he had been the one to slaughter David and his farm animals for food. Pigs, cows, sheep.. David never did it, it was hard to even get him to eat meat. He hated killing living things for his own profit, though Maurice didn't mind. It was morbid of him, but he loved the feeling of having the power to control if something lived or died. He never told David this, of course.
-
"And where, exactly, do you plan on getting a knife?" He asked, surprised that Maurice seemed confident in his ability with the weapon. Besides the whole gender fiasco, there were other things that made Maurice different from any other of his former captives. He'd never had one of his prisoners talk of killing him before, and it was a bit refreshing.
-
"I'm sure I can find one somewhere. All of your men carry weapons, I'm sure. And I'm an excellent pick-pocket-er." Maurice was almost lying now. True, he could take things without being noticed, but he wasn't sure how he would even get on deck to do so. But, he wanted to draw attention away from that.
"So.. Why, exactly, am I here? Surely, a man like yourself could have chosen any girl in my village.. So, why me? I know that I'm.. That I don't have much of a chest. I get it from my mom." -
He shrugged, leani g forward slightly. "Your house was at the edge of the village. Things set apart are usually hiding something. Or there's something wrong with then." He raised an eyebrow. "For example, two men living together might be frowned upon in your village." Edward shrugged a second time. "But that's just one example. I was hoping to find something more interesting."
