The last part caught her attention. If she let him live, and found her client... what would that do for the cop? He wouldn't be as likely to go to heaven, but at the same time... killing someone like that had to get some points for him. Ava sighed, and reminded herself that she couldn't risk letting him hang around for that long. She was just as bad a criminal, when she really thought about it, as the man he was hunting. She waited for him to return, hoping he'd eventually go to the bathroom or get something from the only bedroom the apartment had.
-
Ira noticed how quiet she was and let out a sigh, taking a seat on the couch to try to relax. "I wish I could've been around to protect her better..Anyway, if you want anything, to drink, eat, anything, feel free to let me know."
-
I promise I'm not stalking this
"Do you mind if I get it instead?" she asked. "I know it's your place, but it'd feel weird to have you do it for me." She stood up. -
Pshh yeah right~ x3
He looked at her for a moment then gave a small nod. "If you can't find something, call for me. I'll just sit out here and try to relax.." -
Just wasting time before volunteering
She nodded, and headed into the kitchen. Once she was there, Ava found that he left apples in the fridge, and hid a knife so that she could reach it when she had his back turned to get one for her. She waited a minute or so, then set her plan into action. "Hey, Ira? Can you come here?" she asked politely. -
Ira looked up at the call of his name and stood, stretching one of his arms. "What do you need, Ava?" He asked in that more friendly and relaxed tone that everyone he knew was used to.
-
"I can't find something. Just come here." She promised herself she wouldn't get nervous. If he didn't come in, she'd go out and take care of him there.
-
"I'm coming, lady." The young man told her as he walked into the kitchen again. She seemed to be acting a bit strange, so he put up a guard just in case. "What did you need?"
-
"I wasn't sure where you kept apples," she explained. After over a thousand years, it seemed like she'd be better at acting.
-
"Apples?" Those are usually in a drawer in the fridge. Keeps them fresher and a cool apple tastes better than a warm one to me. Unless I'm out of them..." He hummed innocently in thought and opened the refrigerator, crouching down to open the drawer and look.
-
She reached back and grabbed the knife, waiting for him to turn around so she could back him up against the fridge. How could humans be so stupid?
-
"I've got one for you..." He trailed off as he looked up at her in confusion. At first thought, he'd think she just wanted to cut or peel the skin off. But that wasn't it at all, he could tell by how she was holding the knife. "What kind of game are you playing?"
-
She took a step closer to him, blocking him from getting past. "If I don't kill you, you'll kill my client. He's one of the best I have. I'm not losing him to some human cop in way over his head."
-
"Client...? You work with that horrible person?!" Ira grit his teeth and glared up at her. He should've known better than to believe that someone was actually going to help him after every single person up to this point had denied his request. "Fine...Do it. Hurry up, so I can be with Rayne again..." He muttered and clamped his eyes shut tightly.
-
She was taken by slight surprise at how quickly he gave up. Off guard, she moved forward, tilting his chin up and pressing the knife against his skin, though not hard enough to break skin.
