(THEN DARN)
She'd settled on a bench across the walkway from him, and watched him intently. Human children weren't anything of interest to her, since they never were sent to hell on purpose. Other than as something he may have been interested in raising one day, the child didn't seem to be of much interest to the officer either. He wasn't one of the perverted humans, at least not toward the defenseless. That relieved her, but also disappointed her. There had to be something wrong with him. -
(Sorry, Ava, he's pretty pure. xD)
Ira noticed the seemingly young woman sit at the bench across from him, but she was just another stranger so he shut his eyes and tilted his head back again, getting lost in his own thoughts. He constantly played out different scenarios of what would happen when he encountered the murderer, some very good others not so good. -
(There's gotta be something. Specialties are lust and violence here)
She watched him, growing increasingly annoyed. Heavenbound humans were disgusting. -
(Well, his desire for vengeance could make him violent.)
Ira could practically feel the other's eyes burning into him, and it was beginning to creep him out a bit. He sat up and glared at her a bit. "Is there a problem, ma'am?" -
(if he can work with lust she can work with it she's seen worse)
"Huh? No, sorry." Ava looked away. There was nothing she could really do here. Well, there probably was, but she hadn't realized it yet. -
(Work with lust? Whaaa.. Now I'm confused.)
"I didn't graduate the police academy for nothing, if there's a problem, feel free to say so. Although, I happen to have my own problems, but I can just push them aside like I always have..seeing as everyone else is more important.." Ira sighed, rather sadly and looked down at his hands which were placed in his lap. -
(if he seemed interested she would have no problem whatsoever with doing the do)
"Like?" she asked as she got up and sat down on his bench next to him. Problems she could work with. She could make sure they never ended well. -
(He's probably not interested. xD)
"It's...none of your concern. It's just personal business, yet I'm told not to work alone, then no one will give me the time of day to help me. So what's the point in telling someone who's just going to ignore it anyway?" Ira didn't look up at her once when he spoke, clenching his hands into fists. -
(That doesn't mean she won't try)
"I dunno. Guess there is no point, since no one will ever help you, clearly. May as well stop trying." She glanced at him, and then down at her fingernails. -
"I'd rather die than stop trying. That monster made this personal, so I will catch him one way or another." He gave her a rather determined look and huffed lightly. "He's not going to escape me.."
-
"You're very vague, you know. What kind of monster?" she instinctively expected one of the supernatural sort, then realized that was nowhere near what he was probably after.
-
"Rapist, murderer. That kind of disgusting monster. Son of a b---- is at the top of the list...yet everyone's too pathetic to catch him. They all gave up, but I won't." He crossed his arms and leaned back.
-
She frowned. That was a man doing what she, or another demon, had probably put in place. It was rare for her to actually do the killing herself, but she had to make an exception for this cop. "I could help you, probably."
-
"Yeah right...Don't get my hopes up when I know you're going to just run away like everyone else that offered their help. Cowardice in people is something I expect when they realize who it is that I'm looking for."
-
She held his gaze. "Try me. I've seen hell, he can't be that bad." The officer probably thought she was just just using a metaphor. Humans were ridiculous.
