"Okay, I'll tell that to that one Erudite transfer." Charlotte grinned playfully, giving Serene a punch to the arm.
"Ugh go to hell." Kendall threatened, annoyed. He bit his lip. -
Serene laughs and nods. "I wonder if he'll take that as an insult. And if he does I want to see what happens," she states.
"Gladly," Mal says while they finally walked into the Pit. Four was already waiting for them there. -
"He probably will, and I'm pretty sure his reaction will be funny." Charlotte snickered, walking fast out of excitement.
Kendall smirked and continued to follow Mal, silent. -
"Are you insulting my old faction?" Serene asks, trying to impersonate Shadow. She laughed a little afterwords.
Melanie was standing off to the side, her arms folded over her chest.
"Glad to see you all made it," Four says a little bored. Eric was standing next to him as the two faced the rest of the initiates. -
Charlotte smiled, "Because if you are, you should run right now!" She said in a proper Erudite impression voice.
Shadow snorted at Four's comment, crossing his arms. He seemed unhappy today, and quite rude. This would likely get him into trouble.
River was behind Melanie, by about five feet. She was calm and relaxed, at attention.c -
Serene laughs. "Oh no, I'm so scared of an Erudite. What are you going to do? Throw your text book at me?" she asked, pretending Charlotte was really Erudite for a second.
"Before we start," Eric speaks up, taking over Four's roll. "There's been a rule change from the usual Dauntless initiation."
Melanie's stomach dropped a little when Eric said this, wondering what the change was, and if it was going to hurt them in any way. -
Charlotte just laughed, not saying anything further. She gave her a small shove. "Damn we should hurry."
Kendall's knees felt uneasy at this, but told himself, it's probably something minor. Something in his head doubted it, however. -
"Oh yeah, Loren will kill us," Serene says. She then tapped Charlotte's arm. "Race ya," she says, and then she begins to run ahead of everyone.
"At the end of the first tests, if you're below a certain point and you're not as advanced as you should be, then you will be cut," Eric says.
Melanie wondered what Eric meant by 'cut,' but she was too afraid to ask Eric herself. Eric scared her a little bit. -
Charlotte smiled and jogged after her, thinking about letting Serene win this time. She grinned, shaking her head.
"What do you mean?!" Kendall blurted, his Candor nature taking no time to kick in. Once he said it, he regretted it. Especially the tone of voice he used. -
Serene looked back over her shoulder to see if Charlotte was going after her or not and she smiled when she saw that she was.
"What I mean," Eric starts. "Is that if you don't make the cut, you become factionless. You're not Dauntless. It's the end of initiation for you."
Melanies stomach dropped again and her eyes go wide when Eric says this. She feels as if she made a mistake choosing Dauntless. -
Kendall had been relieved that the instructor, Eric, hadn't gotten pissed for his tone of voice, or choice of words. However, he still bit back worry of not making it into Dauntless. 'Maybe I'd be safer factionless.' A thought popped into his mind.
Richard smiled, and rolled his neck. He felt quite self richeous at the time, although he would never admit that to himself. He smirked and cracked his knuckles.
Charlotte continued to jog at the same pace she had been jogging at, making not much of an attempt to catch up to the other Dauntless born. -
Mal wanted to speak up and say about how unfair that was; how they weren't told that before, but he knew that would be a mistake if he said that, so he kept his mouth shut.
"Alright," Four speaks up. "Now that we're done with our pep talk, let's get to working."
Serene jumped into the room and she added a little roll just to make herself seem more imitating. She was a little out of breath as she stood with the rest of the Dauntless borns. -
Charlotte stood between Vicky and Serene, near the back. Her average sized body had to stand on her tip toes to see over the taller male dauntless in the front.
Richard smiled, hoping he'd get the chance to beat the Stiff. 'Patience is a virtue..' He told himself. -
"Alright guys, you ready to be training today?" Loren spoke up in an upbeat Dauntless voice. She seemed excited to train them.
Serene grinned when Loren said this and she hollered to let everyone in the whole compound know that she was ready to become a real Dauntless.
Four then walked over to the room that they'd be training in for the next few weeks and Melanie followed him and a few other initiates absentmindedly. -
"Yep!" Charlotte answered Loren, not with a yell or holler, but a unwavering, clear speaking voice. She was indeed ready for the first day of initiation.
River was at attention, near the middle of the initiates. Shadow was at her side, and Kendall behind her. She didn't think much of the agressive Erudite beside her, or the brutally honest Candor behind her. She felt alone, off in her little world.
