Hazel nodded, "I see."
-
"What about you?" Melanie asked. "The one's you've met?"
-
"I've only ever met nice Erudites. I've seen mean oned, but never personally met them." Hazel explained.
-
Melanie nodded. "Like that one guy back there with Ryan?" she asks.
-
"Yeah." Hazel said with a small sigh. She hated it when Erudites talked crap about Abnegation.
-
Melanie sighed, not sure what else to say.
-
Hazel looked at the scarlet sky and sighed. She found herself wiping tears from her eyes.
-
Melanie sighed again, but this time with a smile. "Let's go do something," she says.
-
Hazel tilted her head, slightly biting her lip, "Like what?" She asked. There wasn't ever all that much to do at Amity.
-
"Like... I feel like running around and being obnoxious for the hell of it," Melanie answers.
-
Hazel shrugged, "I don't have all that much energy right now." She admitted, looking out to the setting sun once again.
-
"What if..." Melanie says slowly while picking a tomato. "I threw this tomato at you?"
-
"Then I would be mad." Hazel answered blandly, without much emotion. At this point, she wasn't overly interested in fun.
-
Melanie threw the tomato across the field, kind of bored.
-
Hazel smiled for a moment. That's when she realized it was starting to get dark. "You'd better get home to your family." She suggested, "It's getting kinda late." Hazel felt the stress of tomarrow pounding on her, and it made her awfully tired.

Charlotte slowly made her way back home, running with her friends. They were screaming and whooping and grinning. The Dauntless society was filled with energy, with many other screaming and running teenagers at this hour.

When dinner was over, Kendall told his family he was going for a walk. He left his home and slowly walked the dim, empty streets of Candor.
