She didn't move away from him this time. For some reason, Everly felt that she could trust him. "My name's Everly."

He nodded. "Everly, you should come with me."

".....Why?" she asked, looking at him curiously.

"You're going to get worse, very soon." He stood and offered her a hand.

"Well I can't just leave...I mean, I have a brother to take care of, and a whole summer planned out." She explained, taking his hand to stand up.

"You don't have to leave forever. Just until we figure things out."

"And how long will that take?"

Lyall shrugged. "I don't know, really."

"What about after we figure things out? Then can I go back to my life?" she asked.

"If you want." He started back the way he came.

She sighed and followed him reluctantly. "How many others are there?"

"Six, not including me. I'm alpha male of the pack, despite being one of the youngest." He stretched a little as he walked.

"Then how did you become the Alpha? And how old are you?" She asked as she walked, her head filling up with questions.

"I absorbed the previous alpha's essence. I'm physically the youngest, but since we're immortal... I've been around for roughly a century." He could smell his brother nearby.
