"yeah, I'm the Florence." Florence said, proudly spreading his wings

‘The one and only,’ Collins said with a smile, watching him.

Florence smiled. Outside though, there was the faint, but unmistakable sound of wailing. Florence folded up his wings. "Oh, I guess it's time for this again." He said

‘Time for what again?’ Collins asked, glancing towards the window and sitting up.

"the lady. She comes by every once in awhile. She mostly just cries outside so she hasn't seen any of the other experiments." Florence said. He mimicked the distant sounds of the woman crying.

Collins frowned. ‘Do you know her?’ She stood up and walked to the window, trying to get a look at the front of the hospital.

"not really. I mean, she sounds familiar, but I don't know her face." Florence said. The woman outside looked absolutely distraught. Her face had gone red from crying and she was throwing rocks at the building. She seemed to be in her late forties.

Collins watched her curiously. ‘Should we go down and try and talk to her?’

"I don't want to go down there. It could make things go bad." Florence said, preening his feathers

‘I’m sure she won’t be mad at us. She might just be a little… nuts,’ Collins said. Her father had told her about nutty people. Apparently their neighbours were nutty.

"I won't scare her?" Florence asked, shuffling his feet. He had become a bit self conscious about that

Collins had momentarily forgotten about the fact Florence could be considered scary to people who didn’t know him. ‘Well…. I don’t know. C’mon, let’s go check on her.’

"alright." Florence said, following Collins down to the front door. The woman was still there

Collins stepped out of the front door, pushing it to the side. She looked at the woman curiously. ‘Hello.’

"you? You must be a secretary, I need help! Please help me!" The woman sobbed, crawling closer to Collins. Florence watched from the spaces of a boarded up window
