He sighed lightly and smiled. "Master Wolfe would have my head if you got hurt." He walked over and checked on Brenda and sighed in relief. "She's fine. Just unconscious for a bit."

Maria nodded again and took a shaky breath. She would have to just move on. Clark was gone, Brenda was okay. "Thank you." She told Daniel. "Maybe I should start carrying a pistol..." She muttered to herself.

He nodded and handed his gun. "Keep it. I'll bring the bullets over by tomorrow and I'll teach you how to shoot it." He lifted Brenda up and sighed. "He knocked her out with something. I don't know what though."

Maria took the gun and gave Daniel a grateful nod. She gestured to the couch and the blanket. "Brenda can rest here, I'll finish up her cleaning."

He nodded and placed her down gently onto the couch. "Have fun." He disappeared out of the room just like he came.

"Fun...right..." Maria murmured to the now-empty room. She covered Brenda with the blanket and began to get back to her cleaning, picking up the pieces of the vase from earlier.

Brenda woke up twenty minutes later and shot up. "Maria!" She looked around frantically and landed her eyes on Maria. She sighed in relief. "Are you okay...?"

Maria smiled a little. "Relax, I'm fine. She walked over and set down her duster. "Are you feeling okay?"

Brenda blinked and nodded. "Yeah I'm fine. Just very tired..." she yawned and shook her head.

Maria gave her a sympathetic smile. "Go back to sleep. I'm almost finished with the clowning anyhow." She told her.

She shook her head. "No I don't need..." she looked at the gun on Maria's waist and blinked. "When...did you get a gun?"

"About twenty minutes ago, actually..." She explained. "But you said you were tired, get some sleep."

She shook her head. "I'm not tired Maria. It's almost time for me to go soon."

Maria nodded a little reluctantly. "Alright. Are you sure you're okay? I was so worried when I saw you on the ground..." She shook her head and got back to the cleaning.

She nodded. "Of course I'm fine! I don't really know how I got knocked out but..." she got up slowly and started helping her clean.
