He heard her shriek and shoot up, covering her neck and stomach prospectively. He sat up and hugged her closely. "Maria it's okay, calm down I'm here and everything's fine. It was just a nightmare."

She shakily wrapped her arms around him and closed her eyes. She hugged him tightly, making sure he was there and safe.

He sighed lightly and started to rock a bit. "It's okay Maria...everything is fine. You're safe honey." He hugged her tightly.

She slowly untensed in his arms and sighed heavily. "It was you...you were hurt and couldn't do anything to help you..."

He blinked lightly and tilted her chin up to look at him. "Maria look at me, I'm fine dear. I'm just fine."

She glanced up at him and nodded. "Sorry for waking you up." Her gaze drifted to the windows, seeing that it was still dark out.

He chuckled lightly. "Maria...I've been awake for an hour before you screamed. I'm fine really." He yawned a bit and looked at her. "Your nightmare scared you that bad?"

She nodded a little reluctantly. "It all felt so real...he was so close..." She shook her head slightly. "It was horrible. But it was just a dream." She sounded more like she was trying to convince herself.

He sighed and nuzzled her cheek and kissed her forehead. "Maria. It was just a dream, I would never, never let him lay a hand on you. I'd die before he ever does."

Maria rubbed her neck and nodded. She leaned against him and felt a surge of happiness. Sebastian would protect her, and the baby. She didn't need to worry. "I love you." She said, softly but sincerely.

He chuckled lightly. "I love you too. Now let's go back to sleep.." he yawned lightly.

She yawned as well and layed down, but had no intention of going back to sleep. She knew her nightmares would return and that was the last thing she wanted. So she closed her eyes and kept her breathing even, hoping Sebastian would get some sleep rather than stay up worrying about her.

Sebastian fell back asleep, hugging her close to him and burying his face into her hair. He hated that she was upset really.

Seeing that he was asleep, she opened her eyes and relaxed against him. Her thoughts drifted aimlessly, thinking of every possible distraction from sleep.

He stayed asleep, not bothered or even noticing that she was still awake.
