He was half way up the steps and he turned to look at her, a frown on his face an tears threatening to spill. "Haven't you said enough? I was trying to save humans, not keep them as pet!" He growled lowly and threatening as he kept walking.
-
She reached out and grabbed his arm. It scared her when he spoke like that, used that same menacing growl he used at the office, but she had to make him understand. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I didn't mean you, I just...I won't ever be able to thank you enough for saving me." She looked into his eyes, trying to get her sincerity across. "Please, Sebastian, I'm sorry.."
-
He pulled his arm away and kept walking. He didn't want to hurt her, he didn't want to bring harm to her and with the full moon coming he was scared she would run. Shaking his head he decided, maybe distance would help...
-
Watching him walk away without a word, Maria couldn't stop a single tear from spilling over her lashes and dripping down her cheek. She quietly retreated back to the dining room, cleaning up the dinner, leaving a mostly full bottle of wine on the table. After a moment of sitting and thinking of what an idiot she was, she rose and went silently to her room.
-
When Sebastian got to his room, all hell broke loose. He growled and picked up his desk, flinging it across the room and hearing it shatter against the wall. He snarled and picked up his dresser and threw it at the opposite wall, hearing it break and clatter to the floor. He looked at his bed and tore up the red satin sheets in rage.
-
Maria was curled into a ball on her bed, sobbing. Every crash that sounded from the nearby room made her flinch, every crack made her wince. She was shaking, terrified of what he might do if she happened to be in his way while he was angry. But some part of her worried about him. Maria truly regretted what she had said, and to think that she may have out him in such a state only made her feel more guilty.
-
He finally hurled his bed across the room and heard it crash, breaking completely in two. He went to grab something else to throw, but his eyes landed on the picture that was on his desk. He felt his face and emotions change into regret. His father would have been ashamed of his behavior. He fell to his knees and started crying, it could be heard through the whole manor. He hadn't cried in years.
-
Hearing his sobbing, Maria felt as though her own heart were breaking. She rose and stepped lightly over to his room. Her trembling form appeared in the doorway, her slightly bloodshot eyes filled with regret and guilt as she took in her savior's crying form.
-
Sebastian looked weak and fagile in his crying state, his father would have told him to man up and stop crying, but he couldn't. The tears wouldn't stop, they made him look human, someone who was scared and afraid of what he had done.
-
Maria ignored the wreckage of the room, and, gathering her courage, approached him. She knelt down beside him and wrapped her arms around him. She didn't say anything. He didn't need someone to talk to. He needed someone to lean on, and she was going to be that someone. She sniffed quietly and tried to stop her own tears and she hugged him tightly.
-
He felt something wrap around him and his eyes shot open to see her there. He pulled away and scrambled to a corner. "D-don't touch me. I-I don't want to h-hurt you." He felt like a frightened animal now.
-
"You won't." Maria tried to keep her voice even. Her dark eyes locked onto his bright blue irises. "I trust you." She took a small step forward. Maria hated seeing him this vulnerable, looking so frightened and caged. He was so different from the happy and collected master she'd grown attached to.
-
He tried to go further into the corner, but he couldn't. "M-maria I don't w-want to hurt you, p-please stay back." He felt worse now, he didn't want to hurt her. He couldn't but he knew somehow he would.
-
Maria felt fresh tears sting her eyes and she took another step towards him, shaking her head."I can't leave you alone like this." She said, her voice barely above a whisper. She moved so that she was kneeling near him again.
-
He couldn't go anywhere now, a growled escaped from his throat and he looked away from her. "You should have left me alone. You could have stayed in your room and act like nothing happened. You could have done that!" He snarled at her, baring his teeth.
