Yup! That's how my life is.)
Brenda grinned. "You're welcome! I'll always help you. Now we only have two more rooms to clean!" She grabbed her hand and soon started on their second room. -
Oh. Are you done with school yet? I mean, are you on summer vacation? )
Maria giggled as Brenda dragged her to the next room. Maria quickly set to work, determined to finish the same time as Brenda did. She was new here, but she didn't want the other servant to constantly have to help her finish. -
Yup. Thats Illinois for you.)
Brenda smiled at how Maria was getting the hang of it, soon enough they were on their last room and half way done with it. "Geez...I wish you were here earlier. I'd still be on the second room by now." -
Lucky! I still have three days left...)
Maria shrugged. "I'm just trying to keep up." But she was grateful for the other girl's praise. With a little pang of discomfort, her stomach reminded her that she hadn't eaten breakfast. But Maria waved it off, she'd skipped meals often enough on the run. -
Eh they'll go by fast.)
Brenda finished before Maria again and heard her watch go off saying the four hours their four hours was over with. "Geez time flies when you clean doesn't it?" Brenda made her duster disappear along with Maria's. "I'll see you tomorrow Maria! Eat something will you?" -

Maria nodded, it really hadn't felt like a whole four hours. But then she paused, tilting her head. "What, I can just take stuff from the kitchen?" She asked. Having open access to a whole room full of food was heaven to someone who was used to being half-starved. -

Brenda laughed. "Of course, Master Wolfe's manor is your manor!" She put on her hat and started to walk out of the room. "Have fun Maria!" -

Maria was a little shocked, and it showed as she waved slightly dazed to Brenda, thinking of having a real meal, just like the one last night. Trying not to grin, she crept downstairs, heading for the kitchen. -

Brenda and the boys piled up into a van and soon drove off. Brenda was a bit worried about Maria having her way in the kitchen, but she hoped that she would make something for Master Wolfe. -
As much as Maria wanted to pounce on the first food she saw, she had to show a little restraint. She decided to make a meal for both her and Sebastian, for when he returned from his patrols. After a bit of digging around, Maria emerged victorious with a chicken and a salad. After seasoning the chicken and putting it in the oven, she set to work making her own vinaigrette dressing, so the salad wouldn't taste exactly like the one they'd shared last night. She hummed to herself, a little smile on her face as she mixed ingredients and tossed salad leaves.

Sebastian came home and walked into the manor after three hard hours of patrols, carrying a bottle of unopened wine into the house. He heard someone in the kitchen and he walked in slowly to see Maria putting the finishing touches on something. He grinned. "I didn't know you cooked."

Maria yelped and jumped, nearly dropping the bowl of salad she was holding. She whirled around, her cheeks dusted pink, embarrassed that he'd caught her singing to herself. "It's not done yet, sorry..."
