Fall smirked, removing a single sword so it was safe for him to sit back against the cage.
"With an attitude like that, no one's gonna buy you, and you're not gonna like spending an entire night with me."
He closed his eyes, fully prepared to fall asleep there, but it seemed there were people milling around the cages now.
A few were pointing at the rock and whispering amongst themselves. It would've been a pain in the ass to explain, so he was almost grateful when they laughed it off as a joke and started perusing the other cages. -
Ginji glanced around at the people, if he had been a cat his ear would of been flat. Instead he glanced up at the people from under his hair nervously.
-
A few people glanced over at Ginji, passing him up for monsters. A few were flat out staring at him. One was circling around him, a man who might've been thirty-five. Well off. He smelled like soap and thick cologne. Fall made a show of hacking up a lung when the man circled around the cage to where he was sitting.
"God, what is that? Ew! Something smells like desperate!" he declared. The man looked taken aback, gave Fall a nervous smile, and continued circling nervously.
"He's not just a person?"
Fall rolled his eyes.
"Of course not. He's a thing. A cat Sith, that was it. He turns into a cat sometimes. Don't try to explain it to anybody. They think you're crazy." -
"I don't just turn into a cat. That's insulting." Ginji stated, trying to find a comfortable position to sit in to stare at both the men.
-
The man perked up immediately when Ginji spoke.
"Oh! He speaks English! That's great. This is great. What else do you do then?" the man asked excitedly, crouching down and poking awkwardly at one of the swords. Fall glared over at him while he was caught up with Ginji. The guy made his skin crawl. -
"Now why would I tell you that?" Ginji replied, smirking a very cat-like smirk.
-
"Aww, don't be mean. Come onnnn." The guy's tone could easily pass for flirting. Fall gagged a little and smiled nicely when the guy looked over at him. Before long, however, his attention was right back on Ginji.
"Can't you take him out of the cage or something? I can't really see him through all of these... swords. Why are there swords, by the way?"
Fall took a moment to measure up his intentions.
"He got a little rebellious, so I made him be quiet. He's awful cute when he's not running his mouth, eh?"
The guy looked relieved.
"Oh, I see. Well can you take him out?"
"I can."
There was a pause.
"Will you?"
Fall sighed dramatically.
"Hold on." -
Ginji perked up at the mention of that, but remained leaning against the back of the cage, to not give himself away. He watched the men carefully, waiting for any little slip up.
-
Fall blinked down at Ginji, trying to decide whether there was a chance he could start problems. He decided there was a very large chance.
He held up a finger, and ran off, returning with a piece of rope. By now, a small crowd had gathered. Ginji had an audience! How cute. On his very first night, no less. Wait, is that what he did with my sword? God dammit! I'm gonna beat his ass.
He ignored the audience- and his enlightened colleague- and crouched down again beside the cage.
"Kay kitty, if you wanna get out you're gonna have to hold still, huh? Gimme your hands." -
Ginji stared at him, raising an eyebrow. "You're really no fun. Don't trust me, eh?" He shrugged, sighing, and held out his hands, tilting his head and giving a kitty smirk.
-
Fall smiled again, which was going to become a meaningless gesture if he repeated it much longer, and sighed with him.
"Oh, baby, you know I wish I could, but I've seen you run, and I'm not in the mood to catch you again." He took hold of Ginji's hands inside the cage, tying them together and tightening the knot until he thought it might burn the boy. He tugged at the knot to be sure it was secure, even picked at it with his claws just a bit.
"There, all set." he said cheerfully, standing up. He began pulling the swords out one by one, tossing them haphazardly all over the ground. Then he unlocked the cage, reaching down and practically dragging Ginji out into the open. He kept a hand tight on his shoulder as the guy looked him over along with about forty other onlookers, all either perverts or trying to figure out why they were trying to sell this poor kid. -
Ginji growled at the rope being tied, annoyed, but didn't say anything. After being dragged out he just looked around, and grinned.
"Hello~" -
The guy smiled back, taking the opportunity to start poking around all over Ginji. Fall watched him for a moment before deciding there had to be a rule against that.
"Buy him and you can do all the touching you want." he growled, dragging Ginji back a bit by the shoulder. His eyes flashed gold again and the man paused, mouth open as if he'd been about to say something.
"Well.." he stuttered. "How much?"
Fall paused, blinking.
"Um." -
And Ginji proceeded to shift form, back to a cat, which subsequently made the rope useless. He instantly darted away, as fast as his kitty legs could take him.
-
The man freaked the f--- out, which maybe made the chase that was going to ensue- once again. God dammit- a little more worth it.
"One second." Fall choked through his laughter, and he took off after the cat again, lurching on his way and grabbing the rope before he sprinted off in the same direction.
