After a moment she was done with the first layer. Looking over at him he smiled slightly before washing her brush off and applying the bronze color.
-
Michael tried to find something to say, but couldn't. Instead, he hummed"Ride of the Valkyries"
-
Ally relaxed and listened to him hum a song that she didn't know. Why couldn't it be like this every day? Sighing softly she cleaned her brushed and added the golden layer on top.
-
He cracked an eye open, "looks good," he commented. As the pitch of the tune slowly decreased as he started to drift to sleep.
-
"Thanks." She said happily and washed her brushed. Now she would have to wait before adding the decorative paint. Looking at him she flickered her now water wet paint brush at him and send water flying at his face.
-
A slight smirk crossed his face. "You do not want to get into a paint war with me," he warned. "I've got some paintballs on ice, and I will use them." his tone was serious, yet light and playful too.
-
"It was water." She huffed in her defensive and fell backwards. She looke up at the clear blue sky with the occasional fluffy white cloud passing by.
-
He smiled, "Sorry. How long have you lived here?"
-
"My family was one of the founding ones here. So.. I've been here for a long time." She said and yawned. She nuzzled the inside of her hoodie slightly.
-
He nodded, "how long ago was that?" Michael asked.
-
"When this place was established? 1815 I think. I was born and raised, seventeen years of a quiet small town get old though." Sh rolled onto her stomach and started to pick at the grass. "What about you? Why did you come here?"
-
"I had to come live with my aunt and uncle," he said, eyes lapsing to pain.
-
Ally began to pick out long blades of grass and tieing them together. "Ah... Wanna talk about it? You don't have too." She could feel the pain rolling off of him in waves.
-
"They, my parents, were murdered," Michael whispered, his voice cold, trying to keep his emotions in check. He had never told the story to anyone but the police.
-
She didn't look up. The grass stilled played in her hands before she spoke after a moment with a quiet voice. "Was it bad?"
