Elle nodded and led the other captain to her quarters, making sure that the door was locked behind them. She jabbed a picture on the wall with her finger. It was a large treasure chest, in the corner of a map of the Pirate Islands, where they were both headed. "What do you know about this treasure?"
-
Aerona smirked, "no subtlety, I see." Then she paced the room. "I know what everyone knows. It's the treasure of legend, the treasure that will lead to the world's rebirth. The treasure that will save the good and eliminate the evil." Aerona turned to Captain Sparrow. "Not much is known, Captain Sparrow."
-
"There's not much to know, my dear Captain Haliro. But you obviously know more than 'everyone else', because you've made it this far." She crossed her arms and stared at the map. "You're not the only one looking for it."
-
"I can naturally assume that, Captain Sparrow, because you are here as well. Only a naive sailor would believe that you are only exploring." Aerona frowned. "But there is a bit of a conflict, that I can already see."
-
"As can I." She turned towards the other girl, staring straight into her eyes. "I would suggest we continue together, unless you want to make some very...persistent enemies."
-
"Have you already underestimated my crew?" Aerona chuckled. "But I must agree, we should continue together. Two sets of cannons are better then one, I suppose."
-
"My ship has two sets of cannons. But I suppose three are better then one." She leaned forward. "But I never underestimate people." She turned away from Captain Haliro. "That's a mistake I won't make again..."
-
"Aye. Well I suppose I'll go back to my own ship and deliver the news." Aerona turned and walked towards the exit. She paused and said, "And Captain Sparrow, this better not be hornswaggle." Then Aerona exited Captain Sparrow's quarters and swung back over to her ship.
-
Elle nodded without turning around. "Aye. I'll have my ship follow yours then."
Underestimating people, as she had said, was not a mistake Elle would ever make again. Around her midsection, a long scar traced along her side. It's what happened when you underestimated people. It's what happened when you made mistakes. She tugged her shirt down, ensuring that the injury stayed hidden. -
Aerona was quickly greeted by Calypso. "Did anything happen, ma'am?" Aerona nodded and climbed the stairs to the wheel. She stood behind the wheel. "I have formed an alliance with The Sea Dragon. We will be travelling together. This choice was made to avoid conflict. Resume your stations. Savvy?!" The crew let out a loud, "aye!" and resumed their work stations. Aerona gripped the wheel once again, ready to go.
-
Elle sighed, glancing at the map one last time before returning to the wheel. Dodger was waiting for her. "What happened?" "We have an alliance." "...Excuse me?" "You heard me." "Elle..." There was a warning in his voice. "After last time-" "I'll be fine." She cut him off. "Fine. But if you get hurt again..." She smiled and waved him off. "I'll be fine."
-
Aerona glanced at Captain Sparrow, then back in front of her. "Raise the anchor!" Aerona shouted. The anchor was raised. The sails were then released in turn. [I]The Sea Star began glinting across the water once again. Rona watched the last couple rows of Shark Teeth. She began to steer the ship around them.
-
*gliding (not glinting)
*The Sea Star (not: [I]The Sea Star) -
Elle barke some quick orders to the crew. They released the sails, which billowed up in the strong wind, and the large ship began to follow after their new companions.
-
Aerona manoeuvred the ship through the Shark Teeth safely. She let out a sigh of relief. Calypso ran beside her and reported, "there is no other obstacles, ma'am." Aerona nodded. She continued to steer the ship forward. "Land ho!" the lookout cried. Aerona smiled.
