Most people think that pirates don't exist anymore. By pirates I mean the ones that say, "Yo ho ho." But, there's a series of uncharted islands that pirates do live on. But these islands are filled with wild beasts, and monsters. So finding treasure isn't the only thing a pirate has to deal with. Most pirates have a small ship or no ship at all. Very few pirates have big ships and a small crew.
Pirates face danger more then treasure on The Pirate Islands. There are curses, beasts, and other pirates hoping to strike gold. Some pirates join together to become unstoppable forces, others stay lone wolves.
But recently, there has been a phenomenon. About 10 years ago, otherworldly beings have arrived in The Pirate Islands. Some of these beings wreaked havoc on towns or pirates. Others became pirates themselves.
But one day, a pirate finds a treasure. Inside this treasure was a light. This light separated and flew off. Whoever the light deemed worthy, would bear the mark of the light. The people marked by the light were part of a legend stating that a group of people would erase misery from pirate island. Now, this group must find and eliminate the sources of misery on The Pirate Islands. The only problem? They have no idea where to start.

I just watched Pirates of the Caribbean. I have pirates on the brain. Plus, I had to add a fantasy twist! :P
The soap/rp starts before the light is released. The characters we create will be part of the group that is marked by the light.
You have lots of freedom when creating your character. You could be a human, you could be any otherworldly being, or a hybrid of both if you wanted to. Since there are otherworldly beings, it means there is going to be magic. Only if you want it. You can have whatever weapons you want, as well.

I was watching Pirates of the Caribbean and anime. So... Yeah. I have strange ideas. I wasn't sure if anyone would like the plot... I'm home sick so I decided to write a plot. -
