Zhale's eyes widened and he shot towards Kala's cries, abandoning Ezmere. The red puma leapt over rocks and raced over the rough canyon ground.
Gress looked up at the large red puma. "Hey, you! Help me!" He called commandingly, gesturing to the sticky mess he was stuck in. -
X couldn't help himself, he started laughing. A deep, rolling laughter that started from his chest and worked it's way past his ebony lips. "That, I can do." Digging his powerful hind legs into the dirt he reached over and scooped the white male up by the scruff and pulled backwards, pulling him out. He looked to the silver puma.
She was shocked that he laughed. Out of all puma's, he was the one to be feared. Regainging her composure quickly she rolled her eyes. "I was just having fun." She sounded like a cub caught in the act. -
Gress rolle his eyes, but grinned. "Of course, no harm done." He turned to the male puma. "You have my thanks."
-
Kala soon was trapped by a rocky wall. She gritted her teeth at the realization that these pebbles were far too sharp to clamber over.
Then she heard the noise of echoing patters. Thinking the maniac bobcat was after her, she set her heart on escaping. Kala continuously scraped her paws on the rocks, but refused to rest until every pore in her front legs bled.
She fell back, landing with a large THUD on the dusty canyon floor. She was too tired to cry for help, or cry for that matter. She was too hurt to think.
So there she lay.
Waiting. -
X grunted softly his eyes gleaming. "Knock it off. Your like cubs." He rolled his eyes and started to walk away. His long legs made him dissapear in mere seconds.
She purred with amusement an flicked her tail at the white males nose. "Hehe." She winked and slinked away. Her fur glistened as she hit shadow and patches of sun light. "What now?" She asked herself with a tilt of her furry head. -
'Jax' shrugged. "Whatever you want." He said, quietly planning his revenge. The she-puma was certainly the most exquisite creature he had ever layed eyes on, but her mishchevious ways were far less appealing than her shimmering fur or alluring voice.
Shira crouched low to the ground, following the strong scent of a canyon mouse nest, when a puma-shaped figure caught her eye. She rushed over, her paws flitting across the uneven ground. She came to a halt at the other puma's side. I am astonished voice, breathless from the sudden sprint, she spoke her companion's name. "Kala?" -
Panting heavily, the she-puma slowly turned herself to face Shira. In a breathless struggle Kala managed to groan, "Help."
-
The black she puma nodded and set off into another sprit, her ruby visors narrowed
In determination. -
X found himself in his den. Dipping his pad in sticky like black substance he placed it against the wall. Many paw prints marked the wall and grew as he did. "Hm." He wiped his paw off outside.
-
Timid and afraid, Kala lay motionless while waiting for Shira.
-
He eyed the land before gathering a few pumas and leading then outside to possible make boundaries outside of the dark caverns they currently lived in.
-
Shira ran as fast as she could, yelping sharply as she collided with Zhale. Both pumas tumbled to the ground. Shira explained what she had seen, much to Zhale's shock. He was at Kala's side in a heartbeat. "Kala...Kala! Say something, are you alright?"
-
Kala blinked rapidly, hoping this would help regain her senses. The ground was cold and hard, and her tail twitched in pain. "Y...y-yes..." she stammered helplessly.
"Kala?" cried Ezmere, following the murmuring voices ahead. He bounded after her. "Kala! Kala!"
Kala heard Ezmere's silky yet concerned voice, and it grew purer and louder by the moment. "Ez...Ez..." she sighed. -
Zhale snarled, blocking the former king's path with a strange glint in his eye. When he spoke, his voice was not his own. "One step closer and I kill you." He threatened Ezmere. He should never have left her, never...
-
Kala, a bit more strengthened, sat up. Her legs sat in a river of blood, and they ached so badly she could scream.
And she did.
"Zhale! No! Don't... d-don't do this! Zhale, I love you!"
Ezmere stepped closer, snorting in Zhale's face. "Have it your way," he grunted, slipping past the threatening he-puma. "Come at me. I dare you."
"Ezmere!" cried Kala, eyes welling with tears.
