Rubycrested considered attending the ball as well. She ordered from a "Posh Paws" dogolog (get it? XD) a sparkly party outfit embezzled with sequins from head to tail. The set included a deluxe diamond tiara. I'm going to be the life of the party for sure, thought Ruby,
Meanwhile, Ronnie was rummaging around in a dumpster behind the pet supermarket. -

Patch ran and brought Ronnie over. "We were gonna bust into the purebred's ball. Whaddaya think?" Kito asked.
Seagull scratched at Rubycrested's door. -

"Cool!" said Ronnie, nodding.
"Come in, darling!" Rubycrested called. -
Kito smiled. "It'll be great!"
Seagull entered with a smile. "Ms. Crested, I believe I have some news you would care to hear." -
Ruby pettily placed her dogalog aside and set her paws in her lap. "Yes, darling. What is this aspiring tidbit of news you speak of?"

The undercover shifter edged closer and whispered, "Nax's got those rubies you ordered. I'll sneak em in tomorrow."

"Thanks, darling!" cried Ruby, waving her paw to send him away.

Seagull winked and slipped out, her spotted tail wagging slightly.

Ronnie scampered off after her friend.

Kito and Patch trotted down Milky Way (get it?) in search of Buzz's costume store. "Come on Ronni!" Kito called.

Ronnie bounced along eagerly.
Rubycrested strutted over to the ball in her finest threads and prettiest makeup. -
They entered the store. Buzz, a bulldog/pug mix, greeted them. "We need masks." Kito explained. "We're gonna jump the purebred's ball." Patch smiled excitedly. "So we'll need three costumes."

"Right," nodded Ronnie. She began sorting out possible costumes in the nearby dumpster.
