"Marie are you ok?" Katrina asked.
-
The ghost blinked. "Wha..? Oh, yes, I'm fine." Truth be tod, she had been rembering the fire that had killed her where a different shop used to stand.
-
He blinked slowly. "Well Im Jack and it's nice to meet you three." He scuffled slightly feeling out of place from the others. His eyes peered around the room taking in every smll detail.
-
Marie smiled. "I'm Marie, and this is Katrina." She gestured to Helen, still babbling on. "That's Helen."
-
"...which smelled a little funny, but I'm sure the rat will catch on that it was a trap. And speaking of rats, you haven't seen Pierre, have you? Well he's basically my pet now, I guess, and I have to train him to quit nibbling on every single little thing he sees! It's so annoying! Have you ever met someone who kept doing something and you wanted them to stop; you just can't figure out what to say to them? I mean, Pierre's a sensitive soul; he probably doesn't want anyone in his face shouting..."
-
Marie chuckled. "Maybe one day we'll find a ghost who can out talk her..."
-
Katrina giggled. "I doubt it." She said, smiling.
-
He chuckled at her letting Helen babble. Finding a pen and a sheet of paper he sat at a chair and began to doodle. Lines and swirls soon turned into an elegant flower with vines twisting and turn, and an open bloom.
-
Katrina floated behind him. "That's pretty!" She said when she saw the drawing.
-
Helen snapped out of her "talking coma", now gazing at Jack's illustration. "Wow!" she cried. Then, of courseshe began babbling about art...
-
"Thanks." He smiled faintly. "Me and Jason love drawing." He flipped the page over and began to draw the three ghost girl's faces. Each smiling happily. "So how did you guys end up here?" He asked casually as if asking for the time.
-
"Well after I... Passed... Marie found me and she brought me here." Katrina said. She was avoiding the part about how she died.
-
He nodded not pressing the subject. Placing his initals on the bottom left corner of the page he rose to his feet. "Well I'll be going." He smiled and waved goodbye before he dissapeard leaving the drawing behind.
-
Katrina looked at the picture and smiled.
-
Helen smiled at Jack. "Well, I honestly had no idea the banister in the theater was so high. I was only curious on the measurements... that was my job, after all. Yep. Measuring stupid banisters. And after my burial I felt my spirit rising... rising... it was the strangest sensation." She choked on the words, not knowing how to explain how she got to the cafe.
