Marie studied the picture with a critical eyebrow raised. "It's very good...but I haven't smiled like that in a long time." She said, turning away from the picture.
-
"I was chased," blurted Helen. "I thought I was invisible to every human being, but I was wrong. This gang saw me, and they chased me here. I was so... scared. I know it's ironic; a ghost being scared. But even though they wouldn't be able to do any harm to me I panicked and finally took cover in this place."
-
Jack nudged his brother once he got home. "Get up lazy." He huffed pulling the blankets from his brother's body, letting the cold air wake him up.
Jason groaned and got up scratching his head, his hair fluffed up from sleep. "It's saturday." He complained flopping back onto the pillow glaring up at his brother. He got up seeing as he couldnt get his blanket back and got in the warm shower. -
Katrina frowned as she realized that was true. "Why haven't you smiled like that Marie?" Katrina knew that Marie smiled. But mainly only to her.
-
Marie sighed. "I guess it's just been hard." She smiled, although it was a little fake. She didnt want to worry the younger ghost. "But it's easier now, being a...a ghost..."
-
Katrina nodded slowly. "I understand." She said, quietly. Then she smiled, trying to lighten the mood.
-
Marie suddenly floated over to the other side of the dusty room. Roxie had cleaned the upper floor last spring but it hadnt stayed clean. She pushed something and an old radio hummed to life. A slow walks came on, and Marie started dancing. "I used to love this song, when I was still..alive."
-
Katrina nodded. Then she smiled. "It's a nice song." She remarked sincerely. Katrina remembered how she had fun dancing at all of her birthday parties... Up until her 8th one.
-
Next, a more lively song came on. Marie actually laughed. "The band wrote this song to make fun of Americans." She explained, chuckling when the song said something about "round and lazy" people.
I'm American, I'm not trying to offend anyone! Just stereotyping!!) -
Katrina smiled. She knew very little about these, Americans. But she took her word for it.
-
Marie chuckled again.
-
Katrina's eyes brightened. "Marie!" She said quickly, "your smiling!"
-
Helen gasped. "Oui, she is!" With a warm smile she danced ghoulishly to the catchy rhythm of the music.
-
Marie looked down. "I suppose I am. But even as a petit child, I loved musique.
-
"Oui, I can see that!" Katrina said, smiling. "I always loved to Chante."
(Chante means sing in French. I'm learning French right now... I live in Canada)
