Mastiff's tail curled slightly around hers in his sleep. The rest of the night was full of sweet, melodious dreams, a kind of dream he had not had in a very long time. And suddenly, those happy dreams faded into dark and twisted ones as Mastiff remembered Naomi. She hadn't returned with Oakley yet, and now he was full of anxiety and woe.
MEANWHILE: "Oakley," Naomi coaxed. "Come with us." The guards of the pound were resting, and Oakley's cage was shut on him. If only she could open the cage without arousing any unwanted attention from the grabby humans... -
Maria sleep silently, but she too worried for her friend. Naomi and she had been friends since they were caged together as kits! She was extremely uneasy.

Sol was walking down the sidewalk, dodging people and calling for Fawn. -
Oakley pawed at the cage, "how do I get out??"
Fawn padded over to sol, "hi!" -
"Shhh!" Naomi silenced frantically, wary of humans waking up and caging her up again. And she couldn't let that happen now. Not when she was this close to her one TRUE love.
Claws unsheathed, Naomi dug around in the lock until it finally opened the cage door. "Yes!" Naomi rejoiced loudly.
With a snore and then a grumpy grunt, the nearest human awoke, alarmed at Naomi's presence. "Hurry! Follow me!" she cried, bounding away to escape, and expecting Oakley to follow." -
(Forget that annoying quotation mark at the end of that post.)

Oakley followed, but warily, he had never left the pound before. The bright sun hurt his eyes and the cars hurt his ears. He whimpered, following her into a shady ally. The humans took close pursuit, but eventually lost them.

Naomi heaved a sigh of relief, and cuddled closely to Oakley. "We made it!" she cried, nuzzling him.

Sol smiled. "Hey, Fawn!"

Soon, Oakley and Naomi were off. Mastiff had courteously left scent marks to guide them towards Non-Peddy territory.

Maria blinked her eyes open. "Naomi isn't back yet..."

"I know..." replied Mastiff in a concerned tone, trailing off in his tangled thoughts.
Badger ignored everyone who teased him.
