This is what I believe:

That there was a Saint Nicholas that gave gifts to people and didn't tell him, he just left it at their doorsteps (or something like that) and throughtout the years people made him into "Santa" and added creative ideas, punchlines, milk and cookies, elves, etc. to give kids some imaginations and stuff.

Nope, i was brought up 2 believe in him, and every chrismas i found presents on my bed. Ofcourse i found out, when i was 7, that my parents were putting the presents. How? Simple.... I made a trap...hehe.... I put a bucket of water on the door. You can guess what happens next... Oh, the gud old days.......
