Infinity NoviceResidents in 15 states petition to secede the nation, which means they are trying to get a number of signatures to leave the United States of America. They say that the re-election of Barack Obama angered them. Our government has petitioners collect 25,000 signatures before it is even considered by the Presedent.
Really? Then they want to become their own type of government. It sounds like a little hissy-fit ordeal, to me. These are the following states: Louisiana, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Albama, North Carolina, Kentucky, Mississippi, Indiana, North Dakota, Montana, Colorado, Oregon, New Jersey and New York.
Could this be only as attention to prove a point? Or could these states be serious? -
They can leave, and then their new nation can go down a rat hole.
-
I had no idea that was happening. And I live in North Carolina.
-
It isn't going to happen. The reality is that the states actually need the federal government and that state-level lawmakers would never vote to leave.
-
I live in North Carolina.

Kentucky. And I haven't heard anything about it.

FLgirl92 NoviceFlorida won't secede. We could never pay for Social Security and Medicare on our own.

Total Ponage NewbiePacifist Obama won't even try to stop them. They are dead serious. The new country will be way more successful than the United States because they are very republican. If they separate, I might move there...
-
Infinity NoviceRepublicanism isn't always the right way. What if we retrace history? That country (as if they would make one) would be restricted and not very free.
Ya, sometimes democratic ways is not always so pro-active, but it gives some freedom, in my opinion. -
Obama a pacifist? Is this the same guy who has been using drone strikes to kill Al-Qaeda operatives in places like Yemen? Is this the same guy who committed extra troops to Afghanistan? Is this the same guy who ordered airstrikes to enforce the no-fly zone in Libya? Child please. Obama is anything but a pacifist. If anything he's proved himself a far more ruthless killer than George Bush.
-
^Same guy who ordered Osama bin Laden killed, and was actually in office when it happened
-
RangerOfTheNorth NewbieThey won't leave, they just want attention IMO. If you're serious about ceceding, you don't just go telling everybody about it. You don't bother with getting all those signatures.

I live in NY and I haven't heard of that..
