Guns are solely used for the purpose of shooting another human being. Wether for good cause, or bad cause, guns are bad, and even used in the hands of a good person, still dangerous

when my mom's cousin was around 11, they got their hands on a supposed 'fake gun' their dad had lying around. they were messing around, and pulled the trigger on their friend as a joke, to where their friend literally died after having their brains blown out
they were traumatized after killing their friend by accident -
Interesting points ravager. A few questions since I'm curious...
Does bad and irresponsible parenting account for gun violence in the US committed by adults? And in relationship disputes between couples where a gun was used?
Are the majority of purchasers of guns who end up committing violence using a gun, or who will commit violence with a gun, registered S Offenders, in the US?
What aspects of poor or irresponsible parenting do you believe directly correlate with gun violence in the US? -

Quickly adding to what Quiz said, guns also are used against animals as well. It's not very relevant, but guns endanger animals in the wilderness. -
I live in an area where shootings at malls, schools, etc are more common than others. I spend a lot of days at school getting terrified and thinking, “someone’s going to come to the school and it’s going to be bad.”
Sure, there are restrictions on guns, but if there were enough, things like school shootings wouldn’t happen nearly as often.
I’m not for banning all guns. Sure, they terrify me, and even toy ones want to make me bolt out of the place, but I know that if they were banned it would cause a lot of people to be very angry, and the people who hunt (who I know in person) tell me that that’s the way to control the population of, say, deer (which is incredibly true).
However, I strongly believe that there should be more restrictions on guns—way more. For instance, I had nine-year-old friends who owned guns—for me, ideally, the age you can get a gun would be raised a whole lot higher. (That’s just one example, and it’s not my main point)
Gun violence is a huge issue we’re facing that other countries aren’t. If we don’t do something about it soon, things are going to get even worse. -

I don't have the stats but I wouldn't exactly be surprised if they were.
Some adults don't get help, wether it be from mistreatment or toxic masculinity.

Do you know what a hunter is? -
If there are NO GUNS how would people die to GUNS???????
Do I have to explain what the police are.
Do I have to explain what illegal arms dealers are. -
Based on your response, I'm assuming you're trolling, bread

I respect everyone's opinion here, but to be fair, saying that guns kill people is like saying pencils misspell words. Yes, guns are used in terrible gruesome murders but it is people who kill people and no matter what restrictions we put on guns, people will always kill people. It is the sad truth. That being said, I do think there should be restrictions but I don't think banning guns entirely is the way to go.

Exactly. If you hear about a murder and your first thought is to blame the weapon... I don't know what that says about you. It ain't good, that's for certain.

To play devil's advocate, I don't think our statistics could ever match those of the UK or Australia because they are island nations. Smuggling through the border will definitely always be a thing. I'd imagine if we outlawed guns in America it'd be just as easy to find an arms dealer as it would be to find a drug dealer.

Exactly.

Random slightly off-topic thing, I've been told that the UK allows farmers to own shotguns, apparently

What aspects of poor or irresponsible parenting do you believe directly correlate with gun violence in the US?
I already explained irresponsibility.
When I reference poor parents, I mean parents who either don't give a damn about their kids and parents who abuse their kids.
1. Because the parents don't monitor their kids or otherwise don't try to help them (which is a form of abuse itself)
2. Abusive parents can cause gun violence for the same reason they can cause su1cide.

Maybe I'm just bad at english but can you rephrase that -
Nothing good comes out of having guns
Do you know why people have guns? Because other people have guns. The only good thing we could do at this point, is remove guns totally. If you look at the news, police shootings exist. Even police defending innocent people with guns, are shooting back. This is called gun violence. There's no such thing as protecting someone or yourself with a gun. In any case, 'protection' would be shooting back, harming/killing another being. It's completely illogical.
